Young Forest Martial Arts is family owned, operated and orientated. We believe in building strong families and strong communities. Even our school structure is based on family structures. For example, Sifu means teacher/father (it can also mean teacher/mother as it is not gender specific. It is a term used in any master apprentice relationship), Simo (title for Sifu’s wife) means mother and studen

t titles translates to brother or sister. So, not only do we help and promote building stronger family bonds at home, we build and develop them at our school as well. This reinforces, teaches, and gives individuals the experience needed to establish these kinds of relationships in other areas of life such as school (elementary, high school, college), work, other group/organizations, et cetera, et cetera. To build strong families and strong communities it must start with the individual. Young Forest Martial Art’s primary objective is to develop strong moral character and life skills in children and adults and we do this through martial arts training. Our general martial arts programs are as follows:
Children 6-12
Young Adult/Adult 13 and up
Tai Chi/Chi Gung 13 and up

At Young Forest Martial Arts, we believe to have a healthy mind, you must have a healthy body. Whether through our general martial arts programs, or through one of our fitness partners, we know we have a program for you and your family. How did you all spend your holiday? We kitted-up, deployed to an undisclosed location, and battled it out in close quarters Nerf battles. In blatant breaches of etiquette I had students shoot me (their Sifu), and one student try and knife me with my own knife 😀 All in good fun as you can see from the pictures! Here at Young Forest Martail Arts we are very appreciative of our service men and women who volunteer to serve so that the rest of us don't have to. And we are even more appreciative of those who gave their lives in service to all of us who make up this country. Finally, we are appreciative of the families that lost a loved one in the service of this great country. If you have lost an immediate loved one in the line of duty, come to our teahouse (Blue Lantern Tea) and tea will be on us today.

Trash Bash 2026: the proud, the few this year, bashing it up! Take that you stupid trash! Oh yeah, there were snakes. Lots of snakes. By "Lots of" I saw five myself and the kids held one 😀🐍 Thanks to all the volunteers who participate in Trash Bash, and thanks to Darke County Solid Waste for organizing such a great event!

Another great time at Den of the Tiger Karate Tournament! Such a great event with great schools and competitors! Thank you Sensei Jack Faught for hosting. Thank you Sensei Shad Robison and 540 Martail Arts for all that you do and contribute as well. And thank you to all the volunteers who help make such great events for our students and competitors.
