My Binky Inspirational
Binky arrived in a big horse trailer surrounded by hay. He was to be a surprise Easter morning for my grandchildren Kylie and Brooklyn.
Jeannie, our friend unloaded him and we put him in a stall where he could see everybody including the other ten horses that were much bigger than him. He settled right in to his new home. He acted like he had always lived there.
When the girls arrived that night it was dark, but you could hear Binky call out “Here I am! Come say Hi I want to meet you!
The next morning no one noticed the little hoof prints, much smaller than all the others and he was still calling out! He was so excited to meet everyone.
When the time came for the Easter Hunt we went outside and finally made it to the barn. When Kylie & Brooklyn came to the last stall they looked in and laughed. Binky was there waiting with his Bunny ears on. Oh his time had come! At first they did not realize the new face on the farm, they thought it was Spanky one of his new brothers who looked a lot like him but then Kylie tilted her head and said “Wait a minute Me’ Me’ This isn’t Spanky!” At last Binky had been found. Binky was so excited! They took him out and loved on him. Oh how he was loving these two little girls! He felt so special.
Then it was time for him go to his new pasture and meet his new brothers and sisters. He had only been able to peek out of his stall and see them. Now he was going to meet them face to face, nose to nose.
When he went over to his new family he realized how much smaller he was but he soon figured out how he could seem as big as they were. He knew he should not be afraid and he stood up on two feet and showed them how big he really was! Boys were they surprised!
And this was the beginning of a very encouraging and enlightening spiritual journey with Binky Woo…
We have learned that size is not what makes the individual great, it is the heart, soul and spirit of that individual. The attitude to keep on going and never give up. The ability to believe that nothing is impossible, there is always away. If something is too high you can always go under it, if you seem too small, use your imagination and find a way to make yourself bigger. If you can help someone, help them and most of all always be an encouragement to others.
One day we looked out and there was Binky standing on a big hay bale! Oh he had now learned how to play King of the pasture. But he has also learned there are times when you need to let someone else lead the way. Like when the snow is halfway up your belly and it is really hard to walk in. It is easier for your bigger friends or family to break the path. Of course he followed close behind and encouraged them to keep on going.
Binky has also learned to be very helpful like when he came over when we were shoveling and raking and took the rake in his mouth! Or when he tried to move the wheelbarrow and empty it for us!
Yes we have learned a lot from this big heart in a little package. We have learned we can do things with some determination and a can do attitude. We have learned it is okay to let others lead who are more capable but to be an encourager to them and others when we can. We have also learned to try and help others when we see the need and together with the help of our friends and family we can face any challenge big or small. All we need is a can do attitude and a heart to go on.
So hold your head high, never give up and love those around you. Keep encouraging yourself and others. Plant it deep I know I can, I know I can. And you will.
