We are very excited to have released our own new kayak for at the Paddle Sports Show!

You may have already seen prototype versions of the Picante on the water as Team Dagger paddlers put in through the paces. Playful, yet high performance, the Picante brings plenty of spice to your paddling experience! Expect this design to be available in the spring of 2027 in 3 distinct sizes!

Congratulations to our neighbors at for winning the Kickstart award at the Paddle Sports Show for their launch of their new AON kayak!

In 2027 the AON will be available for consumers in Europe and the U.K. The goal of the AON was to open the door for more newcomers to enter the world of whitewater kayaking. The Kickstart award is new this year at the Paddle Sports Show and honors products and companies that help encourage the growth of the paddlesports community and break down barriers for beginners to become paddlers.

We look forward to seeing this design take off in Europe and the U.K.!

To wrap things up, I wanted to highlight the gem that is the Skykomish Valley.

Often somewhat overlooked due to the popularity of nearby regional classics, the Sky valley is an incredible area to not only develop various skills in paddling, but to test your limits. From sections to stair-step your way up the progression ladder, to absolute behemoths like Sunset Falls on the South Fork, the Sky Valley has it all.
With phenomenal creeking in the spring, and big water during fall storms, this little watershed has quite the variety of quality whitewater.

After moving from Index to Bellingham for school, each time I return to the Sky Valley I am shocked by the fact I grew up there and can call it home. This spring I was able to run a few drops I’ve been looking at since a young kid, and it felt surreal to be able to achieve such dreams and follow in the footsteps of absolute legends such as Sam Grafton and Rob Mckibbin.

So, if you’re ever on Highway 2 just west of Steven’s Pass, take a moment and appreciate the Valley. Rip a Sky lap, stop at Alpine or Eagle Falls, or hit up a local and get on a Sky Valley classic like Top Tye, or the North Fork. You won’t regret it.
