💜 AAU Junior Olympics 2026 | Gladys Kinnard 💜

What an incredible way to wrap up an unforgettable season!

Gladys stepped onto one of the biggest stages in AAU gymnastics this week, competing against some of the best Silver gymnasts from across the country. While she didn’t qualify for event finals, what she accomplished this season is nothing short of remarkable.

She finished the Junior Olympics with:
🤍 10th on Vault
🤍 9th on Bars
🤍 8th on Beam
🤍 8th on Floor
🤍 9th All Around

While these may not have been the results we were hoping for, she’ll always be a champion in our eyes. The scoreboard doesn’t define the heart, determination, and perseverance she’s shown all season.

Earlier this season, Gladys battled through both a broken toe and a broken ankle. There were moments when simply getting back into the gym felt like the biggest victory. Instead of letting those setbacks define her season, she fought her way back with determination, grit, and a work ethic that never wavered.

That perseverance led her to become an AAU Regional Champion, earn her spot at the AAU Junior Olympics, and proudly represent Head Over Heels Gymnastics on the national stage.

As a coach, athletes like Gladys are a dream. She is coachable, hardworking, humble, and always willing to put in the extra work to chase her goals. She has been an absolute joy to watch grow this season, and I couldn’t be prouder of the gymnast and young lady she is becoming.

This season may have come to an end, but I have a feeling we’re only scratching the surface of what she’s capable of. The future is bright, and I can’t wait to see what next season has in store.

Today was also Nova’s day to take the Junior Olympic floor, and what an incredible journey this little girl has been on.

Just one year ago, she was learning the basics. Today, she stood on one of the biggest stages in AAU gymnastics, competing against the very best Copper gymnasts in the country. That alone is something to be unbelievably proud of.

Unfortunately, her meet didn’t start the way she had hoped. Bars were her first event, and they were incredibly slick. She had a fall that shook her confidence and put her behind right from the start. But here’s what impressed me most… she refused to let one routine decide the rest of her meet.

She took a deep breath, walked back onto the competition floor, and fought for every single score after that.

🥉 Tied for 3rd on Vault
🥉 Tied for 3rd on Beam
⭐ 9.650 on Floor
🏅 Tied for 9th All Around at the Junior Olympics.

Those scores came while competing against the absolute best Copper gymnasts from across the country.

As coaches, we always hope for perfect routines. But sometimes the greatest victories aren’t measured by medals. They’re measured by resilience. By getting back up after disappointment. By refusing to quit. By finishing stronger than you started.

Nova, I could not be more proud of you. You represented our gym, our town, and yourself with determination, courage, and heart. This was your very first season in gymnastics, and you’ve already made it all the way to the Junior Olympics. That alone is something most athletes only dream about.

Wayne County may be a tiny dot on the map, but today one of our girls stood among the best in the nation.

Today was Everly’s day at the 2026 AAU Junior Olympics, and what a performance she gave. ❤️🤍💙

This little girl walked into one of the biggest competitions she has ever competed in and proved she belongs among the very best.

🏅 3rd on Vault
🏅 4th on Bars
🏅 6th on Beam
🏅 4th on Floor
🏅 4th All-Around

While she didn’t quite make the Junior Olympic Finals, there is absolutely nothing about today that feels like a loss.

Her very first event was floor, and the music failed… not once, but TWICE. After the first issue, they let her start over. Then the music cut out again. Instead of letting it shake her confidence, she finished her entire routine in complete silence like the champion she is. No panic. No hesitation. Just confidence, determination, and heart. She earned an incredible 9.800.

Her bars routine honestly left me speechless. It was one of the best routines I’ve ever seen her perform. Looking back, I can find a couple of small deductions, but I still don’t understand the score she received. That’s gymnastics sometimes. The judges see what they see, and all you can do is move on.

What no score sheet can measure is her grit.

This was Everly’s FIRST YEAR EVER in gymnastics.

Think about that for a second.

One year ago she was just beginning this journey. Today she stood on the Junior Olympic stage, competing against the best athletes in her division from across the country, and finished 4th All-Around.

That is extraordinary.

Everly, your work ethic, your determination, and your love for this sport are impossible to miss. You never quit. You never stop trying to improve. You carry yourself with grace, and you make all of us so incredibly proud to call ourselves your coaches.

The medals are amazing, but the young lady you’re becoming is an even greater accomplishment.

Keep chasing those dreams, kiddo. This is only the beginning, and I have no doubt your best gymnastics is still ahead of you.

Congratulations, Everly! We are unbelievably proud of you! ❤️💙🤍🤸‍♀️

Tomorrow, our Junior Olympic journey officially begins! ❤️🤍💙

Nova and Everly will take the competition floor tomorrow. If they advance, they’ll be back on Wednesday to continue their incredible journey. Gladys competes on Thursday, and with a strong performance, she’ll move on to Finals on Friday.

The nerves are definitely setting in, but so is the excitement! 💙

If you could, please send up a little prayer for calm hearts, confident minds, and safe routines. Every skill, every practice, every sore muscle, and every sacrifice has led to this moment.

No matter what happens over the next few days, these girls have already accomplished something incredible. They earned their spot at the Junior Olympics through months of hard work, determination, and perseverance. That alone is something to celebrate.

To Nova, Everly, and Gladys… your HOH family couldn’t be more proud of you. Go out there, trust your training, enjoy every second, and show everyone what you’re made of!

Because around here, we may be just a small-town gym… but we raise girls with big dreams, big hearts, and even bigger goals. ❤️🤍💙

Apparently making one flyer wasn’t enough… I forgot one pretty important detail.

🏅 Junior Olympics!

Coach Clurie and I will both be in Des Moines, Iowa the first week of August with our Head Over Heels Junior Olympic athletes. Rather than having substitute coaches or our kiddos missing instruction, we’ve decided to push all Tuesday and Wednesday classes back one week so everyone gets the full session with their regular coaches.
