🎉 Congratulations to NCSA Member Travis Dancy of Visit Lake Norman! 🎉

Travis was recognized as Hospitality Professional of the Year at the CRVA Partners in Tourism Awards, held in Charlotte on February 18, 2026.

Hosted by the Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority, this annual event honors outstanding professionals across the Charlotte region’s hospitality and tourism industry. Nominees are selected by their peers and colleagues for demonstrating exceptional service, leadership, and dedication to the industry.

Exciting news for a few of our Members! 👏🏻

Voting is now open for SportsEvents’ 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards for favorite events, sports planners and destination partners - and NC has several among the nominees.

The top three winners in each category will be recognized in both the print and digital issues of the February issue of SportsEvents Magazine. Each year, SportsEvents magazine celebrates excellence and innovation in the amateur sports event industry through its annual Readers’ Choice Awards.

These awards honor the planners, venues, destinations and events that set the standard for outstanding organization, creativity and community impact. Voting is open to readers, event organizers and industry professionals.

Meet Rising Star: Sierra Robbins⭐️
Sports Development Manager with DistiNCtly Fayetteville / Fayetteville-Cumberland County Sports Commission


Congratulations, Sierra, on being recognized as the North Carolina Travel Industry Association (NCTIA) Rising Star 2025!

As Sports Development Manager at DistiNCtly Fayetteville, Sierra helps to advance sports tourism by fostering local partnerships, securing sponsorships, and coordinating sporting events that highlight Fayetteville as a premier destination. She also oversees operations for the Fayetteville-Cumberland County Sports Commission, collaborating with community stakeholders and facilitating site tours to attract new business and events to our region.

Sierra holds a Master of Science in Sport Management and a Bachelor’s degree in Recreational Sports Management with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies from Coastal Carolina University. Her background in event planning, student-athlete programming, fundraising, and community engagement reflects her passion for building meaningful connections through sports and creating experiences that leave a lasting impact.

Swipe through for a look at our October Membership Meeting in Greenville, NC! 💜💛

We brought together more than 40 NCSA members and destinations from across the state inside East Carolina University’s Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium, meeting in the Club Level with a front-row view of the field. 🏈

Each year, we host three membership meetings that rotate across North Carolina, giving our members the chance to connect, collaborate, and explore new destinations — from college athletic venues to professional and amateur sports facilities.

What a week (Oct. 13-16) at the TEAMS Conference in Columbus, OH! North Carolina showed up strong — connecting with industry leaders, meeting with sports rights holders, and showcasing why our state is the ultimate destination for sporting events.

The Greenville (NC) Convention Center Campus houses three hotel properties, and is anchored by the Convention Center.

There is complimentary wifi and complimentary parking across this entire campus!

The Center has hosted many indoor sporting events from dance competitions, Brazilian, jujitsu tournaments, CrossFit games, boxing, MMA, and more!

Collectively the three campus hotel properties, , , and have over 400 sleeping rooms and two full service restaurants.

The whole campus has a combined 91,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.

This is the beautiful Sycamore Hill Gateway Plaza, the first stop on African American Cultural Trail, where a group of 22 faithful individuals established Sycamore Hill Missionary Baptist Church in 1865 after holding meetings in Sister Ruth Armond’s home on North Greene Street since 1860.

The trail was created to celebrate the rich history and recognize the many contributions that African Americans made to the growth and development of our city and county.

The trail allows you to experience the lives, stories, and history of our area’s early black educators, medical professionals, cultural leaders, and residents. 

Take the journey and learn about the vibrant Downtown neighborhood before urban renewal, see the site where the first colored hospital stood, walk in the steps of the those who enjoyed the entertainment and social center of the African American community called “The Block”
