A Brief History
FiA (Females in Action) was established in January 2013 in the parking lot of GINBU 401 off of Providence Road in Charlotte, NC. FiA was formed by women who were inspired by their husband's involvement and enthusiasm for the men's fitness group F3. We were briefly known as “F4”, but determined FiA more accurately represents our mission. FiA workouts are peer-led workouts. There are no paid instructors or trainers. FiA workouts take place on outdoor public property (schools & parks). FiA workouts are done outdoors! (rain or shine, hot or cold)
FiA is for women of all ages & ability levels. (we have had teenagers to ladies approaching retirement years!)
FiA workouts are primarily done in the early morning. (before work, before kids get up & the pressures of the day begin) Some evening workouts are available. FiA welcomes ladies of all races, ethnicity and religious backgrounds. (While FiA is not affiliated with any specific religion or religious organization, we do close every workout with the leaders choice of a prayer or intention for the day ahead.) FiA workouts are a place where a female can be herself. We encourage all ladies to come as they are! FiA's love to get to know each other! Throughout the year we have many fellowship opportunities for our members, including regular socials, book club and donation drives.
