A New Direction for Covey Quest Preserve
We wanted to share an update on the future of Covey Quest Preserve.
After much thought, we’ve decided to keep our lease and preserve license, but transition the property to a private operation focused on habitat management, conservation, and the development of our own bird dogs.
Keeping the preserve private will allow us to take a more intentional approach to managing the bird population and habitat, while creating an environment where our dogs can be worked on wild-like birds in a natural, challenging setting.
For us, this is about more than simply having a place to hunt. It’s about maintaining quality habitat, managing bird populations responsibly, and giving our dogs the opportunity to develop the skills and instincts needed to become truly capable hunting companions.
We are incredibly thankful to everyone who hunted with us and supported Covey Quest. Opening the preserve to others this past season was a wonderful experience, and we’re grateful for all the memories made along the way.
Covey Quest isn’t going away we’re simply taking it in a more private, conservation-focused direction. We’re excited to continue improving the property, caring for the habitat, managing the birds, and putting our dogs to work.
We may occasionally use the property for training opportunities with our personal dogs and with select puppy families who have purchased a dog from us. This will allow us to continue supporting our puppy owners and helping them develop their dogs in the field.
We are also open to hosting events such as hunt tests and training seminars.
Thank you for being part of the Covey Quest journey. We may reopen in a few years but we want to spend this season HUNTING our dogs ourselves.
