🥎 The Taylor County Cardinals Athletic Department has announced that Peter Distefano has been named as the new Head Coach of the Lady Cardinal Softball Team. According to the Cardinal’s athletics department, Distefano is a veteran softball coach with “over 30 years of proven success as a Head Coach.”

Upon beginning his coaching career with the Cardinals, he brings his extensive experience in softball coaching, boasting an overall record of 588-345 and a Fast Pitch record of 395-275. Additionally, he has been honored with induction into the Kentucky Fast Pitch Hall of Fame, Class of 2006.

🐲 Earlier this year, we announced the closure of our page, Dragons Sports Center. Dragons Sports Center launched in 2023, serving the community with Dragon's sports coverage. In such a short amount of time, Dragons Sports Center expanded onto local radio and grew into a destination for fans to cheer on their favorite hometown team.

Today, we are officially announcing our next steps since closing our page in March. Green River Media is proud to announced that Dragons Sports Center will soon become Green River Sports, your brand new source for local sports coverage.

More details will be released over the coming months, including ways you can contribute to cheering on your favorite teams. Green River Sports is slated to re-launch later this year and more information will be released at a later date.

🐲 After three amazing years of posting news and updates for our Green County Dragons, Dragon Sports Center is officially signing off. We’ve loved every minute of covering our teams, but the time and energy it takes to keep things running has caused that initial spark to fade. We might have some cool updates for you down the road, but for now, thank you for all the support over the last three years. Go Dragons!
