Southeast Welcomes Reverend David Little as Next Pastor
Southeast Baptist Church is excited to welcome David, Sara, and Lucas as they begin this new chapter of ministry together.
David grew up in Clayton, North Carolina, where he developed a love for the church that ultimately led to God's call to ministry during high school. He is a graduate of Wingate University with a Bachelor of Science in Human Services and Campbell University Divinity School, where he earned a Master of Arts in Christian Education. David has been serving in ministry since 2009, including youth ministry and, since 2018, as senior pastor of Littleton Baptist Church. He is also actively involved with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of North Carolina and serves on the CBFNC Missions Engagement Team.
David considers himself a relational pastor who believes meaningful ministry begins with building genuine relationships with people of every age. He believes children are not simply the future of the church; they are the church today and should be active participants in the life of the church. He also believes worship should be intentional and Christ-centered, with every element of the service working together to tell one unified story that invites people to respond to God's Word. David is passionate about helping churches become places where everyone knows they belong, including those facing mental health challenges.
Sara grew up with a heart for missions and serving others. She graduated from the University of North Carolina at Pembroke with a degree in Political Science and later earned a Master of Arts in Intercultural Studies from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Throughout her ministry and career, she has served in youth ministry, overseas missions, and community outreach. Most recently, she has served as Site Coordinator for C.A.R.E./The John 3:16 Center in Littleton, where she has worked alongside families and community partners to provide hope, support, and practical resources throughout Halifax, Warren, and Northampton Counties.
David and Sara were married in September 2019 and began the adoption process in 2021. In September 2023, they were blessed to welcome their son, Lucas, into their family through adoption. Lucas brings great joy to their family with energy that seems unending and a personality that brings smiles wherever he goes.
As a family, they are excited to become part of the Southeast Baptist Church family and look forward to building relationships, serving alongside the congregation, and seeing what God has in store in the years ahead.
