September 11, 2001 — A Day We Will Never Forget. 🇺🇸
The Greensboro Batting Center will never forget that day.
On September 11, 2001, our country changed forever. The attacks on our nation were devastating and heartbreaking, and for those of us who lived through it, the memories of that day will never go away.
At the Greensboro Batting Center, business basically came to a halt for an entire week. But the truth is, business didn’t matter. Baseball didn’t matter. Sports didn’t matter.
Nothing else mattered.
Our community, Greensboro, and the entire country were focused on what was happening to our nation. We watched the television in disbelief. We worried about our families and friends. We prayed for those who were missing and for the first responders rushing into danger.
We remember the innocent lives that were taken.
We remember the families who lost someone they loved.
We remember the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and countless first responders who showed incredible courage.
And we remember how Americans came together during one of the darkest moments in our nation's history.
For those who were not yet born on September 11, 2001, please take the time to learn about what happened that day, 25 years ago. Research it. Watch the documentaries. Listen to the stories of the people who were there. Talk to your parents, grandparents, and anyone who remembers that day.
You deserve to know what happened to our country that morning—and why September 11th will forever be a day that Americans remember.
