MENtal health matters.

-Grow a mustache: cool.

-talk about testicular and prostate cancer: really cool.

-break the stigma around men’s mental health: life changing.

Check in with your loved ones, definitely the men, and even the outwardly “happy” ones.

It’s ok to not be ok, but it’s not ok not to do anything about it.

Happy 3rd birthday to Chill Will.

Hard to believe it’s been 3 years— it went from warm and sunny to cold and snowy by the time you wanted to make your entrance, but you were worth the wait (I didn’t do anything, did, I know)

Please continue to be the chill, fun, and sweet boy you are. We love you

I was lucky enough to receive a copy of ’s new book Coaching Rules in the mail a couple of days ago, and I immediately knew it was something the entire staff needed.

I tend to get distracted pretty easily (anyone who knows me can attest) so I consume more audiobooks rather than a hard copy because I can do other things and still “read”.

Thankfully this book is so good that I don’t need to wait and have to painstakingly listen to Brendon read it to me. I can’t put it down and will finish the hard copy before the Audio even comes out.

But on a bigger scale, I am lucky enough to call Brendon my friend. He mentions in the beginning of the book that he kind of just “hung out” at MBSC until they gave him a job. I basically did that same thing, but just to make a friends with the MBSC staff and keep learning. Glad you’re still letting the outsider hang out.

Super proud of you, Brendon. 👊🏻

Now go buy this book!!

This tends to be the time of year when winter clinics start popping up and kids will (should) make a choice to transition from one sport to another for the next couple of months or not to..

🔹they won’t get left behind from their peers
🔹they will likely improve their athleticism by playing multiple sports and taking breaks
🔹they still will have a shot at making the team
🔹their athletic ability and status on a club team at 13 has ZERO bearing on the rest of their life.

Some news rocked our local community last night and while my wife and I were talking about it, I said to her:

outward appearance ≠ happiness

Having lost my father to su***de in 2018, and dealing with my own depression and anxiety throughout the entirety of my life, I can assure you that mental illness is a real thing, needs to be spoken about, worked on, and appreciated as a huge aspect of our overall well-being.

Use this as a reminder to check in on your friends.. not just the quiet or reserved ones you haven’t heard from in a while..

But also those who are the most outwardly happy, bubbly and energetic of your friends.. sometimes the outwardly bubbly person needs your help more than you realize.

Check in on your loved ones, and remember you’re never alone.

Feeling grateful this morning..

Grateful for the amazing coaching staff we have made who stepped up above and beyond their job descriptions these last 2.5 months.

Grateful for the amazing members who supported us through the shutdown, crushed zoom and at home workouts and are already signed up for sessions! Thank you

And Grateful for not killing me during this COVID quarantine..

Now, Who’s ready to lift?? Just wash your damn hands!! @ MaxWay Performance

Posted • We are very proud St. Patrick’s Academy student, (who also spends time at MaxWay for his P.E. Class every week) for this incredible act of kindness.

Young athletes need to lift weights. They aren’t the same as professional athletes.

Posted • So, Patrick Kane didn’t lift weights this summer and he’s having a great year.
Let’s try to remind ourselves that he’s a 29 year old NHL All Star and, that has nothing to do with our kids or our clients.
I have had clients lift heavy every off season and have great years.
Just because a talented person does it, doesn’t make it right.

Your fitness journey doesn’t have to be terrible.

Every workout shouldn’t drive you into the earth.

Exercise should be celebrating what our bodies can do and enhancing our lives outside the gym. You shouldn’t feel worse when you leave the gym.

Oh, and having awesome likeminded people training next to you makes all the difference!

Posted • We’re lucky to have clients that come in, kick butt, and also have fun! •

🌟Client Spotlight of the Week 🌟

Meet the Leahy Family. These three siblings come in and crush each and every work out. Drew, playing D1 lacrosse at Holy Cross, Sarah, a junior at St. Thomas Aquinas aspiring to play lacrosse in college, and Meghan, an 8th grader at St. Patrick’s Academy with the same drive and desires as her two older siblings!

Though at different stages of their athletic careers, these three come in, kick butt, and have a few dance parties along the way 💃🏼🕺🏼

The Leahy’s are a part of our Family Membership Program. This program allows each member to be placed in their respected training program and have unlimited access to training sessions.

Take advantage of our family membership package before fall sports end! This special will be open for a limited number of families through the end of October— reach out for pricing and/or any questions!
