From the new Crotched Mtn Hundred race director, today:
CROTCHED MTN HUNDRED ENDURANCE EVENT
THE HAMPSHIRE 100 LIVES ON
The Hampshire 100 endurance event had a successful decade long tenure in nearby Greenfield NH, which was planned to conclude after last year's race event. After seeing the positive impact on the region, development of mtn biking culture in organizations like the Greenfield Trails Association and enjoyment from athletes across the country, we didn't want to see the event perish, so Crotched Mtn Ski and Ride has picked up the event bid, to continue the tradition of this great endurance race in the beautiful Southern NH Monadnock Region. We hope that you're as excited as we are to see this event continue!
This year's endurance event will be similar to what you've experienced in the past, just with a new title, event venue and some minute changes to the schedule and activities offered, etc. Crotched Mtn Ski and Ride, the ski area located on the course from previous years will be the official host of the race and event venue. Race day is set for Sat, Aug 19 with some new activities, a fresh event venue/home base and a similar 33 mile looped course. To create a more inclusive event weekend, we adjusted the race day to Saturday and are planning nightly live entertainment, bonfires, on-site camping, guided rides, daily outside BBQ's and base area activities like short timed courses and kid's activities. In addition, we'll receive continued support from NUE and ATRA for mtn bike and trail run series points and have confirmed that Dirtwire TV will be back for media coverage again this year.
Having just wrapped up the busy ski season, we're now full steam ahead on organizing this year's Crotched Mtn Hundred event and appreciate the support of racers, new and old. Help us spread the word and if you'd like to be involved in the continuation of this tremendous event, drop us a line to help out!

The Crotched Mtn Hundred's new Event Director is Andy Gendron, the Director of Marketing and Events at Crotched Mtn Ski and Ride. Andy has years of experience working in the Ski Industry, but has also worked on a variety of small and large-scale Mtn Bike event projects. For example, he managed the Eastern States Cup Enduro and Downhill series at Killington Mtn for two Summers, sat on the event committee for the Carrabassett Backcountry Cycle Challenge in Sugarloaf, founded the annual Fat Tire Festival at Sugarloaf and acted as the liason between the CR Nemba chapter and the resort as they built out the trail network to incorporate resort land. He's super excited about getting into the NH bike scene and looks forward to meeting all the great racers, volunteers and event planners.

Touted as one of the premier endurance events in Southern NH, the Crotched Mtn Hundred event winds through three towns in Southern NH's beautiful Monadnock Region. Previously titled the Hampshire 100 event, this will be the 11th year of ultra-endurance events in Southern NH.
