What a ride it's been for the 2025 Indiana Bandits 9U National team‼️

This group came into the season with a solid foundation, a core from the 2024 Indiana Bandits 8U team, and welcomed three new players who brought fresh energy and talent. From day one, their sportsmanship, work ethic, and hunger to grow were undeniable. Together, they built something truly special.

The coaching staff fostered an environment for growth, confidence, humility, and heart. But, this team didn’t just compete, they put in the work during practice and on their own to learn, bond, and show what it means to play for each other.

Travel baseball has a way of bringing players together and sometimes taking them down different paths. As we move into the next chapter of 10U, we hope the friendships and experiences shared on the field will leave a lasting mark for years to come. No matter where the journey leads this great group of players, they will always be part of the Bandits family. ❤️💙

On Day 4 of pool play at the USSSA Under Armour Midwest National Championship, the Indiana Bandits faced off against Indiana Mustangs McAfee. Despite jumping out to an early 4-run lead, the Mustangs rallied back to take the win, 11-6.

Bandits came out strong in the first inning with Jayden Gomez and Xavier Benefiel each grounding out to bring in runs, and Lennox Burgess blasting a solo inside-the-park home run.

Walks and fielding errors opened the door for the Mustangs to take control in the second, but the Bandits never stopped battling. Gavin Davies and Sam Day each added RBIs in the third and fourth innings, helping to close the gap, but the boys came up just short.

The Bandits close out pool play with a 1-3 record and head into the consolation bracket today. While they didn’t meet their goal of the championship bracket, this group has faced fierce competition, made big plays, and built unforgettable memories along the way.

They’ll take the field one last time in 9U AAA today at 2:15 PM vs. KMA Mustangs on Field 21.

Day 3 of pool play brought a hard-fought battle for the Indiana Bandits 9U National, who came up just short in an 11-8 loss to the Motor City Hit Dogs. Despite being outhit 20-7, the Bandits never backed down and kept the pressure on until the final out.

Bandits jumped out early with a 4-2 lead in the bottom of the first. Motor City answered with three runs in both the second and third innings. The Bandits rallied in the third with three of their own, bringing it to a tight 8-7 game, but two more from Motor City in the fourth gave them just enough to hold on.

Strong plate appearances from several Bandits.

▪️Beckam Keeton: 1-1 with a single, run, and a walk
▪️Xavier Benefiel: 1-1 with a single, RBI, run, and a walk
▪️Lennox Burgess: 1-1 with a RBI double and a HBP
▪️Jayden Gomez: 1-1 with a RBI single and a walk
▪️Gavin Davies: 2-3 with two runs scored
▪️Cohen Ellis: Turned a walk and HBP into two runs with heads-up base running, including two steals of home.

The Bandits move to 2-1 in pool play. Final pool game is Saturday vs. Indiana Mustangs McAfee — a big one with bracket play on the line.

Thursday’s pool play game at the USSSA Under Armour Midwest National Championship saw the Indiana Bandits 9U come out swinging with a dominant 12-1 win over Mojo Baseball Black!

Gavin Davies led the charge on the mound, tossing 2 strong innings with four strikeouts, giving up just one hit and zero walks. Sam Day took the mound in the final inning, striking out two and slamming the door shut.

The defense was sharp and dialed in. Jayden Gomez had a standout game at shortstop, locking down 4 TC and turning a clutch double play in the 4th.
Kolton Ellis was flawless in left field adding 2 POs. Nash Bixler teamed up with Sam Day for a smooth 2B-to-1B out. When Mojo tried to push on the base paths, Beckam Keeton and Lennox Burgess teamed up for a home plate stop and diving tag to end the threat.

The bats stayed hot as the Bandits out-hit Mojo 7-3. Jayden Gomez and Xavier Benefiel both doubled, with Xavier driving in a run. Gavin Davies and CJ Shrock added RBIs on hard-hit singles. Lennox Burgess and Cohen Ellis each added RBI doubles of their own.

With this big win, the Bandits move to 1-1 in pool play and look ahead to their Friday matchup vs. Motor City Hitdogs.

Pool play officially kicked off today for the Under Armour Midwest Major National 9U Championship, marking the final tournament of the 2025 season for this incredible group of Bandits. With five days of elite-level competition ahead, the boys are excited to compete, grow, and close out 9U on a high note.

In their opening matchup, the Indiana Bandits went head-to-head with Indiana Bulls Black, the #1 Power Ranking 9U Majors team in Indiana. While the Bandits fell 9-2, they put up a solid fight against one of the toughest squads in the state.

Jayden Gomez started strong on the mound, throwing two scoreless innings with five strikeouts, allowing just one hit and two walks. Xavier Benefiel battled through middle innings, giving up seven runs (three earned) on six hits, striking out one.

Beckham Keeton notched the team’s lone hit. Sam Day showed great discipline, drawing two walks, swiping two bags, and scoring a run. Gavin Davies turned a reach-on-error into a triple, later crossing the plate on a passed ball for the second Bandits run.

It was a tough test, but a valuable one. The boys showed grit and gained experience that will carry them through the rest of the week.

Next Game: Thursday at 12:00 PM vs. Mojo Baseball Black from Oklahoma at Grand Park.

Indiana Bandits 9U National Take the Title!! 🏆

What. A. Weekend. These Bandits defied the odds and made a statement! After going 1-1 in pool play and earning the #13 seed out of 24 teams, they battled through five intense games across Saturday and Sunday to EARN the championship!

Gavin Davies earned the win on the mound, allowing just 1 hit and 2 unearned runs over 3 innings, striking out 2. Lennox Burgess came in for the save, needing just one strike and one walk to shut the door—no hits, no runs, no problem!

The Bandits out-hit Canes MWD 10-1!
💥Cohen Ellis, Xavier Benefiel, and Nash Bixler each went 2-2 and combined for 3 runs.
💥Lennox Burgess went 1-1 with 2 clutch RBIs.
💥Jayden Gomez was a spark plug at the plate, going 2-3 with 1 RBI and 2 runs.
💥Kolton Ellis added a solid 1-2 performance.

The Bandits backed their pitchers up with lights-out defense:

The Indiana Bandits pulled off a huge upset in the Final Four, taking down the #1 seed Seymour Diamondbacks Purple with a 4-3 victory to punch their ticket to the USSSA 9UAA State Championship!!

These two teams last met on May 10th, when the Bandits fell 14-1, but this time the tables turned. The Bandits came ready for redemption and gave Seymour a battle they didn’t see coming.

On the Mound, Santiago Ortega earned the win, throwing 3 shutout innings with 2 Ks and just 2 hits allowed. Jayden Gomez opened the game, striking out six over three innings and holding Seymour to just three runs.

At the Plate clutch RBI singles from Jayden Gomez, Xavier Benefiel, and Lennox Burgess kept the scoreboard moving. Patience at the plate was key, with walks drawn by Cohen Ellis, Gavin Davies, Lennox Burgess, Nash Bixler, Kolton Ellis, and Santiago Ortega.

Tied 3-3 in the top of the 6th, Gavin Davies stole home for the go-ahead and game-winning run! Key outs by Nash Bixler (2B), Sam Day (2B), Gavin Davies (LF), and CJ Shrock (1B) shut down Seymour threats and secured the win.

Bandits will continue their fight to the top in the Championship matchup against Canes MWD 9U.
