These young riders is what it’s all about . Our week of basic horse camp . Tonight was the first night , they all had a great time . One cowgirl said this is her birthday present. We really hope she has a great time . She smiled and laughed and told us all she knows about horses . Please feel free to tag or copy any photos or videos . Thank you all for trusting us with your future cowgirls . We have all cowgirls this year .

2026 ”Lead outrider”of The National Pike Festival & James Shaull Wagon Train Foundation, is Connie Mong.

Connie’s grandfather was a farmer and there were 16 kids on her mom’s side . They had work horses and one riding horse . She thinks she was born loving horses , got my first pony when she was 7 . From there she kept riding and became more involved , started showing, and breaking horses . Jumping , western pleasure , barrels , driving, team penning , etc.
She showed on the Maryland Penn Horse Show Circuit for years. She held the Champion High Point Speed Horse for 6 years in a row . She owned 22 horses , she is currently down to 9 . She only ever sold two horses in my life . Once here they stay here . Till death do we part.
