And ... that's a wrap. We've cleaned and put away everything and shipped what needed to be shipped. So before I go dormant on this page for a few months, my final post of thanks. A million thanks to all of you. This past weekend was absolutely fantastic, and I’m overflowing with gratitude so please bear with me, because there are a lot of people to thank.
First, thank you to all of our runners and supporters who year after year jump into this crazy little adventure of running 13.1 miles over the trails of Woolly Hollow. You do it not just for the challenge, but to help raise money for projects that serve children in Honduras. Because of you, this year we’ll be installing a library in a brand-new elementary school. That’s something to celebrate.
I’m also deeply thankful for our tireless volunteers who make this race possible every single year. My wife Tracy, Jailen, Emily, Luke, and Jenni at packet pickup. Joe, Amy, and Peyton from Greenbrier Family Chiropractic, along with Kathy at the aid station. Kay and Julie handling medical. Russ, Becky, and Scott at the finish line. Robert, Eddie, and the entire Woolly Hollow staff for parking and runner extraction when needed (and yes, we sadly needed it twice this year but both runners are ok). Sergio and the Taco Local crew for the incredible tacos. KM Productions for the hoodies. The Blake family and Arkansas Pelvic Health for providing aid station food. David Hill and Hill Construction for faithfully supplying the porta potty every year. Trevor and Tiny Twig for the beautiful finisher woodallions.
And while I’ve already mentioned her, I need to thank one more time my wife Tracy, she does more for this race than probably anyone. This isn’t her calling, but she shows up to support mine and she is truly amazing.
This was our 7th year holding the race, and somehow it just keeps getting better. This race was born out of my desire to follow Jesus by helping those in need, a deep calling toward Honduras after seeing the realities there firsthand, and a love for trail running and the trail running community that God chose to use for something bigger than I ever imagined. And then you all showed up, believed in it, and turned it into something far greater than I ever expected. I went from praying for 50 runners that first year to praying for how we're going to manage 340 runners this year (side note 340 is our hard limit going forward). From the bottom of my heart one last time, thank you all so much!
