The note below is from Mary Martin, who was fortunate to see this flower in bloom. I read online that a large crowd gathered even before the conservatory opened to catch a glimpse of this rare occurrence.
"This plant is known as the 'co**se flower' and is native to Sumatra. They only bloom once every couple of years. and usually for only 24-48 hours. This one lives in the Como Park Conservatory in St. Paul, Minnesota. It started blooming this past Saturday (6-6-26)."
