What started in a garage with mats on the floor and a handful of guys who just wanted to roll has become a home for so many families in Green Valley, Sahuarita, and Tucson.
This academy exists because of the people who showed up, not just once, but year after year. The kids who walked in nervous and left with confidence. The parents who sat on the sidelines, cheered, volunteered, and became part of the family. The students who kept coming back on the hard days. The coaches and instructors who poured themselves into the mats. Everyone who believed in what we were building when it was still just an idea.
Professor Ray’s journey from Tucson BJJ to this academy, the BJJ Revolution/Carlson Gracie lineage we carry, the free self-defense courses that have reached hundreds of people, the kids who grew up here and started teaching the next generation, none of it happens without the community that chose to be here.
To every student, parent, coach, and supporter who helped make SBJJ what it is: THANK YOU!This 10-year mark belongs to all of you so come celebrate with us October 24th!

Thank you to every student, parent, and supporter who took the time to vote. This one is yours as much as it is ours.

We want to let our SBJJ family know that after August 31st, Coach Chapo will no longer be coaching at Sahuarita BJJ.

Chapo has decided to put down the coaching hat so he can fully focus on his professional fighting career. Chapo has trained with us for the past six years and has become a true part of the SBJJ family. We’ve shared a lot of great memories rooting for him and watching his fights and that doesn’t end here. We fully support Chapo and will always be fans.

Moving forward:
* Kids Kickboxing will be taught by Coach Brian, Professor Ray, Coach Matthew, and Coach Antony.
* MMA Fight Team- TBD

Thank you, Chapo, for everything you’ve given our students and our academy. We’ll be in the stands supporting you every step of the way.
