✨ RCHJA Young Rider Scholarship Program — Your Questions Answered! ✨
We’ve had so many questions coming in, so here’s everything you need to know so far:
Q: When can I apply?
A: Applications (including essay uploads) will open right after our September show.
Q: What should my essay be about?
A: We’ll release the writing prompt over the summer. There’s no strict word count—tell your story in your own way.
Q: I don’t ride with a trainer. Can I still be nominated?
A: Yes! A letter of recommendation from a trusted equestrian professional is accepted—think vet, farrier, barn manager, or anyone in the industry who knows your dedication.
Q: I’m not currently a member—am I eligible?
A: Not at the moment, but you can become eligible by joining before the November application deadline. Earlier is better so you can earn credit for any points throughout the season as they are not retroactive.
Q: What if I end up not showing next year?
A: If you already know before the season begins that you won’t be able to show in 2027, please let us know so we can offer the opportunity to another applicant.
