Your Dayspring Eagles 🦅 saw their incredible season come to an end in one of the toughest ways possible — a heartbreaking 9-8 walk-off loss to Yuma in the State Tournament.

This game had EVERYTHING. Fight, grit, emotion, comeback after comeback and a team that absolutely refused to quit. Down multiple runs, these boys battled all the way back and took the lead late in the game after a HUGE 5-run inning. The Eagles showed the heart they’ve carried all season long and left everything they had on that field.

Unfortunately, the ending will sting for a long time. On the final play at home, our boys made the tag and we clearly earned the out at the plate… but the call didn’t go our way. Tough moments like that are part of baseball, but it’s hard knowing how close these Eagles were to continuing their run.

Even through the heartbreak, this team has SO much to be proud of. League Champions. Regional Champions. State Tournament qualifiers. A group of boys that played for each other every single game and represented Dayspring with toughness, class and heart all season long. 💜

A special recognition to our Seniors, Luke Downing & Alonso Rodas. Thank you for everything you poured into this program. Your leadership, effort and love for this team helped build something special. You will be greatly missed, but the impact you left on this program will continue long after this season. 💜

Huge shout out to our coaching staff as well! You men are incredible. We would not have made it this far without you either. Coaching comes with a lot of pressure, criticism and sacrifice throughout a long season, but your commitment to these boys never wavered. Thank you for investing your time, energy and hearts into this program and loving these players so well. We appreciate all of you more than you know. 💜

And to every single player on this roster — THANK YOU for an unforgettable season. Thank you for the fight, the memories, the brotherhood and for taking this community on an incredible ride. What a season for your Eagles! 🦅

Your Dayspring Eagles 🦅 picked up a HUGE 6-2 win over Denver Christian in the State Playoffs yesterday, finally getting past a team that had ended our season the last couple of years! This victory felt especially rewarding as the Eagles came out focused, confident, and ready to compete from the very first pitch.

Dayspring totaled 11 hits in the win, with Gavin Bohl leading the offense with 3 RBIs. Quentin Kissler, Gavin Bohl, and Ethan Martinez each added 2 hits, while Owen Steward delivered a COMPLETE GAME performance on the mound, allowing just 2 runs and striking out 6! An unforgettable win for these Eagles and a moment these boys will remember for a long time! 💜

The second game against Forge Christian turned into a hard-fought battle through 5 innings. Dayspring kept Forge to just 3 runs through the 4th inning and continued to battle every step of the way. The Eagles came up with 2 huge runs in the 5th inning to cut the lead to 5-2 and put serious pressure on Forge. The momentum started to shift, and Forge even had to pull out a trick play to stop the Eagles’ rally.

Forge eventually created some separation in the 6th inning, but the final score does NOT show how competitive this game was throughout most of the afternoon. Your Eagles battled tough against the defending state champions, a team that clearly belongs in 3A baseball! Forge has beaten top 3A schools like Eaton and Resurrection Christian this season, proving just how tough this team really is.

With only ONE loss yesterday, your Eagles are still alive and will face the winner of Yuma vs. Peyton today at 12:00 PM! And the GOOD NEWS… these Eagles still have a LOT of great pitching left! 👀

Your Dayspring Eagles are headed to STATE today! 🦅⚾️

We are asking for lots of prayers for safe travels, protection over our boys and coaches, and a successful weekend as they compete!

We also ask for special prayers for Coach Mark Welsh, who will not be with our boys this weekend. Coach Mark and his family suffered a tragic loss on Monday when his son-in-law lost his life in a car accident in Florida. Please keep their entire family covered in prayer during this incredibly difficult time.

Coach Mark, your presence will be felt in our dugout and at first base all weekend long. We’ll be hearing your voice loud and clear yelling, “HARD DOWN THE LINE!” 💜

What a day for the Eagles as they battled through TWO huge wins to punch their ticket to STATE!

Game 1:

Cooper Smith was absolutely dominant on the mound, striking out 11 and throwing a shutout performance! The Eagles exploded offensively with 12 hits, led by Gavin Bohl with 3 hits, while Owen Steward, Luke Downing, Ethan Martinez, and Beau Rupp all came up big at the plate.

Championship Game:

Olathe 1

Owen Steward DEALT on the hill with a complete game and 13 strikeouts! The Eagles racked up 13 hits in the championship game, with Simon Sholders leading the way with 3 hits. Ethan Martinez and Oliver Heenan each drove in 2 runs as DCA took control and never looked back!

Small ball was executed perfectly all day long — moving runners, putting pressure on defenses, and doing all the little things right. These young men came to win and they came with a purpose!

The Eagles played lights out baseball all day — dominant pitching, clutch hitting, and flawless defense when it mattered most.

Your Dayspring Eagles 🦅 wrapped up the regular season with an incredible 14-5 record and are officially LEAGUE CHAMPS!! 🏆⚾️

Now it’s time for REGIONALS — and your Eagles are hosting this Saturday at Butch Butler Field!

⚾️ Game Schedule:
🕙 10:00 AM — Buena Vista vs. Olathe
🦅 12:30 PM — DCA vs. Byers
🏆 3:00 PM — Championship Game

Come out and pack the stands all day long for some incredible baseball and support these boys as they defend their nest!

Concessions will be open ALL DAY serving breakfast, lunch, drinks, and plenty of snacks — so come hungry and ready to cheer loud! 🔥⚾️

Your Dayspring Eagles wrapped up the regular season with an emotional Senior Day on Saturday! A hard-fought battle, and a huge road win heading into playoffs! 🦅⚾️

Saturday started with Senior Day at the Denver Academy home game, where we celebrated two incredible Eagles — Luke Downing and Alonso Rodas! ❤️ These seniors have meant so much to the program, and the team made sure the celebration came with a statement win.

And what a statement it was… 💥

Dayspring absolutely exploded offensively in a 19-1 mercy-rule victory over Denver Academy at Butch Butler Field. The Eagles came out firing from the very first inning and never slowed down.

⚾ Owen Steward helped spark the offense early
⚾ Ethan Martinez stayed hot at the plate
⚾ Luke Downing ripped a double on Senior Day
⚾ Alonso Rodas added RBIs and energy all game long
⚾ Jackson Sloan drove in two runs
⚾ Oliver Heenan crushed a two-run triple

The Eagles hung 7 runs in the third inning alone and showed just how dangerous this lineup can be heading into postseason play. 🔥

Later that day, the Eagles faced a tough Estes Park squad in a gritty pitcher’s duel. Cooper Smith was outstanding on the mound with 7 strikeouts over 4 strong innings. Beau Rupp, Gavin Bohl, and Owen Steward helped lead the offense, but Dayspring came up just short in a tight 3-2 battle.

Then yesterday, the Eagles hit the road and finished the regular season strong with a huge 6-3 win over Wiggins! 💪 Another complete team performance and a great way to build momentum before Regionals!

From honoring seniors, to explosive offense, to grinding out tough games on the road, your Eagles are showing heart, resilience, and confidence at exactly the right time.

Playoff baseball is HERE… and these boys are ready to defend the nest! 🦅🔥

After a tough loss Monday to last year’s state champs, Forge Christian, your Dayspring Eagles 🦅 responded the best way possible — with a statement win on Tuesday, taking down Rocky Mountain Lutheran 11-1 in commanding fashion!

The bats were alive early and often as the Eagles racked up 12 hits and kept pressure on every inning. Ethan Martinez led the charge with a monster day at the plate, launching a home run and piling up 7 total bases. Owen Steward added two doubles, while Quinn Frost and Quentin Kissler each collected two hits.

On the mound, Gavin Bohl was absolutely dealing — throwing a complete game gem with 7 innings pitched, only 4 hits allowed, 1 run, and 12 strikeouts. He kept Rocky Mountain guessing all game long and slammed the door shut inning after inning.

The Eagles continue to show they can win with power, speed, and lockdown pitching. If this team keeps playing like this, they’ll be a problem for anyone standing in their way.

Your Eagles pulled off an exciting and unbelievable win last night against Flatirons! We're at the bottom of the 7th inning, and we're were down by 1. Runners on 2nd & 3rd with 2 outs!
Gage was up, and we NEEDED a hit! I guess we will take a 3rd dropped strike and an error for the win! Wow! Absolutely CrAzY! 💥 ⚾️ 💪
