Weekend Recap ➡️ The KP Dinghy Sailing Team went down to Virginia for The Grant Trophy at ODU and came away with a huge 2nd place finish. This one was special not just because it qualified us for the MAISA Open Fleet Race Championship next weekend but also because it showcased the depth and youth of our team - our squad for The Grant consisted of five Plebes (freshmen) and one Third Classman (sophomore) and all of those midshipmen achieved multiple top 5 finishes at this regatta.

Half the team got stranded in Florida post spring break training week due to cancelled flights, so we had to make the best of it with more sailing! As can be seen the midshipman took full advantage of the sunny & warm practice conditions. Super cool to see the team now able to field practices back home and down in Orlando at the same time!

Congratulations to some of our most hard-working members of the team for earning Gold and Silver Star Academic Honors from first tri!

Silver Star Criteria include a QPA of at least 3.25 and Gold Star Honors require a QPA at least 3.50!

First regatta of 2026! Unexpected rain and minimal sun didn’t deter the plebe class from having a great time in Long Beach for the Rose Bowl!

At this unique college event, numerous high school teams from around the country also compete with each other nearby, making for awesome recruiting opportunities. We’re proud to be representing the here and hope for many more (sunnier) Rose Bowls to come!
