IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM THE GREAT FALLS TURF CLUB

2026 MONTANA STATE FAIR RACE MEET CANCELED

With a heavy heart, the Great Falls Turf Club must announce the cancellation of our upcoming 2026 racing season, originally scheduled for this July.
This was an incredibly difficult decision, but it is necessary to protect the long-term survival of local horse racing in our community. Unexpected budget shortfalls mean we cannot cover the rapidly rising operational costs required to host this year's events.
What happens next?
Taking this step back now allows us to rebuild a sustainable financial foundation. We are completely focused on restructuring so we can make a strong, triumphant return.

Thanks much to all our patrons. Good crowds on Saturday and Sunday despite the short fields. Great weather too.

One of our programs staff caught this photo of some first time race goers getting a handicapping lesson from a GFTC volunteer. They won the first race they bet and were some very happy campers.
