It's that time of year again! Now through October 21, we're collecting gently used winter gear, including coats, hats, mittens/gloves, scarves, boots, snow pants, and blankets. Join our campaign to collect and distribute over 1,000 coats and cold weather gear to the community!

Find collection boxes throughout the Southern Berkshires, including the primary drop-off location in our lobby. The public is welcome to select items for free at our distribution event on October 23.

New class on the weekly fitness schedule: 🥊 Boxing Basics! Ready to punch up your workout? Join instructor Matt Robinson for a fun, well-rounded boxing workout designed to help you get fit, build skills, and boost your confidence. All skill levels welcome! This weekly class will be held on Wednesdays at 5:30 pm beginning September 16.

You’ll work on:
🥊 Warm-ups & stretching
🥊 Defense & footwork
🥊 Basic punches, including jabs and hooks
🥊 Boxing technique & conditioning

No experience necessary and no pre-registration required — just drop in and get moving!

Happy Labor Day! Berkshire South is closed today, Monday September 7. We'll reopen tomorrow for regular hours. And as a reminder - the Norris Aquatics Center will remain closed all week for annual cleaning. The pools will reopen on Saturday, 9/12.

Our blended-learning course includes 2–3 hours of online training, which must be completed before the in-person skills session. Your instructor will provide details about one week before class. Now Accepting Applications for Shining Star Gift Recipients!The Shining Star Holiday Supplemental program provides an opportunity for community members to purchase gifts for local people who could use additional support during the holiday season.

We'll be accepting applications for support throughout the month of September. All completed applications will then be reviewed and the 2026 Shining Star recipients will be notified by mid-October.
