Happy New Year!

Thank God first and foremost—for bringing jiu jitsu into my life and sustaining me these last 10 years. Thank you to my family for the constant support, to Coach Scott Devine for the mentorship and friendship, and to Empower Athletics for giving me the space to share the art with others.

Scott once asked, “If we took away the belts, would you still show up?” My answer has always been yes—because the roll is the reward, and the roll is only possible because of the people.

Shout out to the gyms and crews who welcomed me and made me better—Devine Jiu Jitsu, Omaha’s Academy of BJJ, Ground Zero BJJ Bridgeport WV, Phil Clark’s Martial Arts Academy, Category Five Jiu-Jitsu, and many more! Thank you for the memories, friendships, and every roll over the last 10 years!

A lot has changed since I started jiu jitsu, but one thing remains the same: I love to roll! I’m excited for 2026 and all the rolls that come with it. I’ll see you on the mats!

This weekend at the Gathering was one to remember — teammates from across the Devine family came together to roll, learn, and celebrate as one.

In the middle of it all, Coach Caleb reached a milestone years in the making — earning his Black Belt!

It was an unforgettable moment surrounded by the Devine Jiu-Jitsu family. Huge thanks to Coach Scott Devine for his leadership, example, and years of investment, and to every teammate who’s shared the mats and shaped the journey.

At Devine Jiu-Jitsu, we don’t just chase belts — we roll. Because every round, every lesson, every challenge is part of the reward.
