The Raiders were on the road twice this past week. Last Monday (8/31), we took our top 6 to Creekside Golf Course for a tri-match with Spring Valley and Cabell Midland. The Raiders finished 2nd out of the 3 teams. Cabell Midland finished tops at 171, East Carter with a 176, and Spring Valley finished at 186.

The Raiders also traveled to Irish Hills Golf Course for the Montgomery Co. Invitational Tournament on Saturday. The Raiders finished with a team score of 349 - good for 13th place on the day as a team.

The Raiders hosted West Carter, Morgan Co., and Rose Hill tonight at Hidden Cove Golf Course for an evening match. Progress is being made every day and we’re proud of the growth in all our players! East Carter took the low team score this evening!

The Raiders have been away from tournament play the last few weeks but they’ve been grinding at practice and several evening matches.

Tonight we hosted a home match with Boyd Co. and Morgan Co. 12 of our 13 players competed tonight and were able to take down the lowest team score for the evening! We also rocked our new sponsor shirts for the evening match! We’ll be coming around to give our sponsors their shirts soon!

Thank you to everyone who came out to the fall Meet the Raiders night and to everyone who purchased a shirt or hat from us! A little rain wasn’t going to stop our school spirit tonight.

A big thanks to Coach Champlin for heading this event up and to Coach Jones for hosting! Special thanks to Grayson Sporting Goods for getting some shirts made up real quick this week for us to sell and throw out to some of the fans!

Come out this Thursday (August 6th) at 6:30pm to Steve Womack Football Field and meet the fall sport Raiders! East Carter Golf will be there with some merchandise to sell. Who knows, maybe we’ll do a small giveaway!

The Raiders were back in action for their third tournament this week yesterday. Rowan Co. hosted the Eagle Trace Invitational at Eagle Trace Golf Course with 125 players in the field. The Raiders took several players with very little experience but they gained confidence and tournament play experience. Once again led by senior Lane Walker with a (+10) 82, we had a great day on the course!

Our annual East Carter Invitation was a huge success today! 120 players competed at Hidden Cove and it ended in a battle! A three way tie for 1st place ended on the first playoff hole!

Lexington Christian Academy Junior Luke Ebel captured the victory with a birdie on the first playoff hole.
Junior Waylon Clutts from Hazard secured 2nd place and GRC Junior Andrew Perry finished 3rd.
All three players finished the round with a -2 (70) on the day.

LCA finished 1st in the team category for a third straight time!
Rowan County had a strong showing and finished with the 2nd place team award.

Your Raiders made some improvements from the first tournament at Stonecrest to today at our home course. It’s a long season and our best golf is headed in the right direction!

A huge thank you to all the teams, players and individuals who showed up today to watch some high level golf being played!
