SugarBug Crappie Jigs

SugarBug Crappie Jigs All jigs are hand-tied on gold sickle hooks. In 2005, we became grandparents for the first time.

Our granddaughter, Tifton, quickly became known, by us, as our "SugarBug." As her brother, Baxley, and sister, Brynson, were born, they too became known as "SugarBugs." Over the years we have added Hayden, Hadleigh, Fischer and most recently, Holder to our list of “SugarBugs.”

Ricky has always loved to fish and in 2004, he started fishing in Crappie tournaments across the Southeastern United Stat

es. He realized quickly after joining multiple tournament trails that he could produce his own crappie jigs. His love of fishing and his hobby of making jigs eventually turned into a part-time business. Everyone would ask Ricky which type of jigs he caught his fish on. After a long time of telling everyone he made his own jigs, we decided it was time to name the business. It wasn't hard for him to choose a name because we both love our grandchildren and Ricky loves to fish. It came naturally that he would call his jigs, "SugarBugs," after our grandchildren.

We appreciate all of our customers for continuing to support Sugar Bug Crappie Jigs! Without our customers, this business would not exist.

With that being said, due to an abundance of current orders and a hard time getting supplies, our current turnaround time is approximately 2-3 weeks. We are working hard to fulfill all orders and as soon as supply chain issues resolve, we expect the turnaround time to decrease.

We are still taking orders but we want to be upfront with all of our customers. Each jig is hand tied thus orders will take longer to fulfill as we do not keep a stock of jigs on hand.
