Sheya's Traditional Hapkido, Teaching the Art of Choi Yong Sul Sheya's Traditional Hapkido is an officially sanctioned school of founder Choi Yong Sul dedicated to

Hapkido: “The Way (Do) of Harmony (Hap) with the Energy of Life (Ki).”

Hapkido (pronounced “hop-kee-doe”) is a soft martial art consisting of 3,808 techniques which teach a person to respond to an attack with multiple levels of force through the use of joint manipulation, throws, submissions, and vital-point strikes. Through exercises, meditation, and practical techniques, hapkidoists learn to deflect attacks, restrain, inflict pain, or injure an assailant as the situation requires.

Doug will be partially reopening classes this week. We will be restarting classes on Tuesdays at 5:30PM. Due to the closure of Island Athletic Club classes will be held at a temporary location at the Economy Propane offices, please contact Doug or Josh for directions.
