Hapkido (pronounced “hop-kee-doe”) is a soft martial art consisting of 3,808 techniques which teach a person to respond to an attack with multiple levels of force through the use of joint manipulation, throws, submissions, and vital-point strikes. Through exercises, meditation, and practical techniques, hapkidoists learn to deflect attacks, restrain, inflict pain, or injure an assailant as the situation requires.
