The 114th RC Aero Squadron is a not for profit organization of dedicated modelers, hobbyists, and enthusiasts of the radio control hobby. Our members primarily fly RC helicopters and planes, both gas and electric. Recently we are seeing a large shift to electric flight, but "gassers" are welcome as well. We are basically about having fun and socializing around the RC hobby, and welcome anyone to c

ome to the field (member or not) to hang out with us. We do not hold any serious contests or races, but we do host several fly fly events each year.

It was another beautiful Sunday morning at the 114th RC Aero Squadron Field near Grapevine Lake Texas.

I got to fly my F-100 Super Sabre Jet Fighter this morning. She flew beautifully.

The F-100 was built by North American from 1953 to 1959. It's nick name was the "Hun," since it was the first of the Century Jet Fighters starting with the F-100 thru the F-106. It was the first production jet fighter to go Mach 1 in level flight.

The Air Force Thunderbirds flew this Jet for nearly 13 years. I can remember as a young kid watching these beautiful Warbirds in their flight demonstration shows. The pictures attached is my F-100 in the Thunderbird paint scheme.

The 114th RC Aero Squadron is hosting its annual Float Fly Event at Camp Joy Park on Lake Worth this Sunday, August 18th. Flying begins at 9AM and will end at 1PM. The landing fee will be $25 which entitles you to a Pizza Lunch. For the last several years, this has been a fantastic venue for flying off the water. This is an AMA Sanctioned Event. I'm looking forward to seeing you there.
