July taught me to chill out. To be more intentional about my goals and what I really want.
Although I didn’t hit my 80 mile walking goal this month, I did walk my longest distance yet. I’m proud of my 9 mile walk record.
I knew pretty early in the month that I wasn’t going to hit my goal and for the first time, I didn’t care.
The heat, my energy, and a very busy social month took priority. I needed time to figure out what I really wanted to aim at.
Giving myself that time allowed for reflection, honesty, and a fresh new plan.
August will be the start of shifting my focus to more lower body strength. Training legs/glutes twice a week instead of my previous 1x.
I’ve been lazy on hitting my protein goals consistently so I’ve started tracking my macros again. For me, protein is the easiest one to be under eating and not even know.
I will always walk and keep that apart of my routines but I will no longer be setting these high mileage goals. Not during this time at least.
July was a great month and taught me a lot but I am excited to move forward with a different direction and focus.
