I wanted to challenge myself. This knife did that. I have basic, minimal, inefficient equipment. So for the “pros” this knife wouldn’t be that challenging. For me it was. It’s not perfect but nice.

80CRV2 blade. 7” overall length, with a false edge. 1080 Bolster, white vinyl spacers with desert ironwood handle.

This knife sent me to the ER. Safety glasses weren’t enough :(

I can’t stress safety enough. I wear a leather apron, respirator and safety glasses and that still wasn’t enough. I just got home from the ER. I had a small sliver of high carbon steel on my pupil. I was lucky. Even though I was lucky it still hurts and I need to see someone tomorrow morning to have the rust ring removed.
My ER doctor, Dr, Oelhaf did a great job, but there was only so much even he could do since I went in so quickly. I guess I need to switch to goggles or a complete face shield. I’m very funny about my eyes. I got to protect that 20/15 vision lol.

A couple more hours and this file will have “transitioned” from an F to a K (File to Knife). Unlike humans, files can be turned into knives. 🤬

This is a 1084 utility hunting/skinning knife for a friend. It’s coming along very very nicely. It just came out of the tempering oven.

Another camp kitchen knife. This is a Boning/Carving hybrid. Should come in handy when processing game this winter. It’s 52100 high carbon steel and just out of heat treat and temper. Now onto finish work.

Kitchen knives for at camp. 1084 steel. Nice hammon on the chefs knife. The pairing knife I tried to keep simple, but boy does that maple pop.
