On Sunday, we finished 1st in D Class and 2nd overall at the ChampCar Endurance Series GP of Hallett Motor Racing Circuit! It was a crazy finish in the rain, but the car and the team both made it through.

Dead Pedal Racing has developed the 87 BiTurbo as a winning platform for endurance racing. Do do that, we have had to come up with a number of great modifications, from modifying slotted disks and calipers for the front wheels, offset wheels and racing studs for 245/45-17 tires on 17" x 9" wheels, camber plates and suspension mods, steering rack bracket modification, alternate ECUs, larger injectors and tunes and so on.

Many of these modifications turn the already fun to drive BiTurbo into a street and track delight and monster, and can be used on the street.

As we develop these for our racing effort, we have decided to create a "street" version of some of these modifications. The first one we are offering is the DPR cam tower covers. These covers fit all 3-valve head Maserati V-6 engines and are CNC machined out of billet 6061-T6 aluminum. They are designed to use all of the existing fastening hardware and gaskets, but are much stiffer and conduct heat away much better. They use your original oil filler caps and are reversed so that each cover had the cap toward either the front or the rear of the engine (depending on the intercooler configuration).

Originally designed with a hole in the 1.220" hole in the center for a breather cap and / PCV valve for a catch can and crankcase evacuation system (available as a kit as well but requires significant oil breather modifications), these are available as a pair in red anodized (in stock) or black anodized (available on request), laser etched with the DPR logo and Maserati trident, for $249/pair with new rubber gasket sets, new special o-rings / seals for use with the existing Maserati fasteners.

We have a number of red anodized sets in stock for immediate delivery and we can ship most anywhere.

This is a great way to make your BiTurbo stand out and help show your support for Dead Pedal Racing's effort to return racing glory to Maserati's wonderful BiTurbo!

Contact [email protected] via email or IM to order or for any questions. Breather / PCV / catch can set details on request.

The Dead Pedal Racing Team has new axles going on the trailer and new engine going in the Maserati BiTurbo after a tough race and return trip from Gingerman in South Haven Michigan at the end of August. The car also got hit hard on the right side and the door has been repaired and painted by Nick Glenna and ready for our signature carbon fiber colored wrap by our great sponsors at Sign Express in Saint Croix Falls, WI.

All in preparation of a race at one of our favorite tracks in the entire country -- Road America. We hope to be joining forces with Crash Management and their wicked fast Dodge Stratus and the great family team of Allen Becker and family from North Carolina to make an all-out attempt to school about 70 other race teams on how its done. The Maserati is fresh and soon ready to go and we plan on meeting up with Allen and the Crash Management Team and family sometime on Thursday October 22. We will have an intense test and tune day on Friday, October 23, with a two-day race on Saturday and Sunday the 24th and 25th totaling 15 hours of hard competition on those two days on one of the fastest and technically challenging road courses in the country.

Because of the Covid-19 precautions that we are all adhering too, there are limitation on spectators. We would love to have all of our family and friends and fans come to watch and cheer us on but we are required to make each of you a "part of our named pit crew", and, of course, adhere to strict mask policies and other safety procedures while in our pit area.

If anyone is interested in coming to see us at the track, please either email me or Instant Message me and i will give you the procedure to get signed up on our official Dead Pedal Racing Pit Crew Team.

Unfortunately, the Dead Pedal Racing team is done for the day. It appears as though the new steering rack mounts failed on lap 2 while Allen Becker was driving. Luckily, Allen handled it perfectly and brought it into the pits right away wher the failure of the left bushing and mount was obvious, so we elected to put it away and go home.

Thanks to Chateau Saint Croix and the ChampCar Endurance staff for the support and encouragement, especially when things don’t go quite as planned.

Lots of work to do before the race at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in September, including steering modifications, body work, and an engine-out operation to repair and replace exhaust manifolds and possibly turbos

Day two starts. Thanks to Chateau St Croix for helping with our unique and fast facing effort and for supplying some great wine for fellow racers and ChampCar staff (of course for after the track is cold). Allen Becker starts with our crippled car - followed again by Craig Peterson as our driving pair again today. Sadly, it looks as though I probably can’t get in the car today, but the tram will still do awesome once again
