We wanted to give a shout out to one of our own JCSA members! Li Burditt, AKA, Polly Wanda Krakker, participated in the SASS End of Trail World Championship in Phoenix, AZ this last February 2026. The event consisted of 12 shooting stages spread over 3 days.
Our very own Li Burditt took FIRST PLACE in her category of Lady Wrangler (age 36-48) and also took FIRST PLACE in Lady Plainsman. She placed 34th overall out of 645 shooters.
Congratulations Li, AKA, Polly! We are so proud of you and you represented JCSA proudly... What an accomplishment.
Now, just for some clarification on the type of shooting:
Cowboy action shooting is a themed, competitive shooting sport
where participants use 19th-century-style fi****ms—specifically two
single-action revolvers, a lever-action rifle, and a shotgun—to
shoot at steel targets while dressed in Old West attire.
Plainsman is a side match category that uses earlier frontier-style fi****ms. It requires two black powder revolvers shot single handed, a single-shot rifle (like a rolling block), and a side-by-side or lever-action shotgun, strictly utilizing black powder in all fi****ms.
