This is my second attempt to make a "one-off" set of blind doors for my newest modified Kara Hummer. Some of you might have remembered the one I made from PVC pipe.Yes, I should have listened to the guys that told me that PVC is too brittle on really cold days 🤔.

I've got to mention that the guys from Maker Pipe are awesome to work with. They've got the supplies that will make your EMT Pipe projects much easier.

The BlindGrass is already attached to my panels which will make the final stretch a breeze. I really love how BlindGrass holds up and won't get wet. The stuff if legit. I'll post some finished pictures when I get to that point.

This is the earliest I've ever been ready for duck season. Boats are repainted. New blind grass and blinds installed. Now I just need to know...what boat I'm going to take?🤣 PS.. the flatbottom 14' Lowe will be for sell in the next week.

Remember a few years ago I posted about the Momarsh Fatboy DB that I bought (like I needed like another boat). I never used it last year as I needed to make new frame for the cover. Well, that is complete along with the synthetic grass. I tried Last Grass on this build. It is mucher lighter than the Blind Grass and not as strong but the cost is about 1/2 the cost of BlindGrass. I like the way it turned out.

Some words to the wise. Shooting Advice from various Concealed Carry Instructors. If you own a gun, you will appreciate this. If not, you should get one and learn how to use it:

●Guns have only two enemies: rust and politicians.

●It's always better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

●Cops carry guns to protect themselves, not you.

●Never let someone or something that threatens you get inside arms length.

●Never say "I've got a gun." If you need to use deadly force, the first sound they hear should be the safety clicking off. (I prefer the sound of a round being chambered when you load a shotgun)

●The average response time of a 911 call is 23 minutes, the response time of a .357 is 1400 feet per second.

●The most important rule in a gunfight is: Always win - cheat if necessary.

●Make your attacker advance through a wall of bullets . . . You may get killed with your own gun, but he'll have to beat you to death with it, cause it'll be empty.

If you're in a gun fight:

1. If you're not shooting, you should be loading.
2. If you're not loading, you should be moving,
3. If you're not moving', you're dead.

● In a life and death situation, do something . . . It may be wrong, but do something!

●If you carry a gun, people call you paranoid. Nonsense! If you have a gun, what do you have to be paranoid about? (I call it being prepared)

●You can say 'stop' or 'alto' or any other word, but a large bore muzzle pointed at someone's head is pretty much a universal language. AMEN!

●You cannot save the planet, but you may be able to save yourself and your family.

After a new coat of paint, the blind for the newest Kara Hummer is complete. It took about 20 hours of standing and "weaving" the nearly 11 pounds of BlindGrass in and out of the frame. Now it's time for the next one, a little design I came up with. I still need to trim the base netting and attach the camo net. Then I'll do more standing and weaving with the nearly 10 pounds of BlindGrass I have left. I'm thinking about my next BlindGrass purchase, which would be 4'x4' or 4'x2' pre-attached panels. All in all, I'm impressed with the stuff. Can't wait to try it out. 👍

Many have passed away, and those who are still here are called
"the elderly.""
We were born in the 40s-50s-60s.
We grew up in the 50's-60's-70's
We studied in the 60s-70s-80s.
We were together in the 70s-80s-90s.
We got married or not and discovered the world in the 70s-80s-90s.
Adventuring into the 80s - 90s
We're settling in to the 2000s.
We became wiser in 2010s.
And we’re going strong into 2020 and beyond.
Turns out we went through EIGHT different decades...
TWO different centuries...
TWO different millennials...
We've gone from phone with operator for long distance calls, pay booths, video calls worldwide.
We’ve gone from slides to YouTube, vinyls to online music, handwritten letters to emails and Whats App.
Live games on the radio, black and white TV, color TV, then HD 3D TV.
We went to the video store and now watching Netflix.
We've known the first computers, punch cards, disks and now we have gigabytes and megabytes on our smartphones.
We wore shorts all through our childhood, then trousers, ep pants or mini-skirts, Oxfords, Clarks, Palestinian scarves, jumpsuits, and blue jeans.
We avoided childhood paralysis, meningitis, poliomyelitis, tuberculosis, swine flu and now COVID-19.
We've done roller skating, roller skating, tricycle, bicycle, moped, gasoline or diesel and now we drive hybrids or electric.
We played with the little ones
horses and checkers, ostrich and marbles, 1000 threshold and monopoly, now there's candy crush on our smartphones
And we read... much
And our schoolmates religion was not a subject...
We used to drink tap water and lemonade in glass bottles, and the vegetables on our plate were always fresh, today we get meals delivered
Yes, we have been through a lot but what a beautiful life we have had!
They might describe us as “ex-annuals”; people who were born in this 50s world, who had an analog childhood and digital adulthood.
We should add the Biological Revolution that we have witnessed. In 1960, biology was very descriptive. We have witnessed the event of Molecular Biology: the molecules of Life have been discovered: DNA, RNA etc. When you see everything that has come from it: gene therapy, gene fingerprints, and others the progress is considerable.
We kind of have "seen it all"!
Our generation has literally lived and witnessed more than any other in every dimension of life.
This is our generation that has literally adapted to "CHANGE".
A big congratulations to all the members of a very special generation, which will be UNIQUE.. "

Hello there. I've been absent for around 7 or 8 months. I had a set back in life. At 59 1/2 years old, I had a major stroke. Spent about 2 weeks in the hospital (south of town). I've had to learn to walk again. Learn to re-talk again. Spending everyday in some type of therapy for the better part of 5 months. Just thought I would say, that life is short. One doesn't always know when life is going to throw you a curve ball.

Anyway, I'm back. I've got a project I'll post in the coming week of so. Here's a snapshot of my current project.

Take care.🙏🙏

We are beginning our 3rd week of the season here in the PNW and the Klamath Basin of Ore.. I've switched over this week to hunt deer the last 2 weeks of deer season.

This highly modified Kara Hummer boat ( see my Facebook Group, Kara Hummer Boats) has worked better than expected. Finished weight was right at 70 #'s. About 12 lbs heavier than I had originally calculated, but about 8 lbs came from the Gator Glide bottom paint that I tried on this boat. Stuff is slicker than "sour owl pucky".(I know you'll like that comment dad).Tracks great. Slips thru the water awesome and has a very low hide.

Only thing I need to re-tweak are the hand hold holes. When getting into the boat in water that is mid- thigh and deeper.. the pitch to the side, thus dipping the gunnels into the water, they do let some water in. I've got a few ideas but they are going to have to wait till this winter to get that fixed.

Season had been pretty good so far. Some great days, some slow days but no days where I wasn't able to pull a limit.

The end is near. Just over 2 weeks till opener and I'll be ready.

I don't know what demon wizardry voodoo compounds are in this bottom slick paint that I purchased from Gator Glide but WOW is all I can say. 5 coats of Gator Glide Base in black. Gotta let it dry for 3 days then 5 coats of the actual glide paint. Stuff is kinda expensive but if it performs as good as they say and as slick as it is right now with just the base coat.... I'll be sliding over the top of the tules instead of pushing them apart. Really can't wait to see how this stuff works.

Base coat is black so that I can see when the to coat scratches off. Top coat will be Marsh Mud.
