This clip is from 40 years ago and is one of my first professional experiences as a dancer! I got hired to do the opening ceremonies of the 1984 Olympics, but the predicted 10 hour rush-hour commute (which never happened!) led to my turning down that opportunity. As luck would have it, they extended an invitation to do the closing ceremonies. It is a wonderful memory! Looking at it now, it is an entertaining snapshot of the dance style of the day! Not to mention the camera work! Alongside lots of professional dancers they brought in 100 kids off the streets who were break dancers. They had never had to learn choreography or dance in sinc. Several of them had to do their amazing tricks on little discs held up by other people! Again, a little snapshot into a wonderful memory and experience! I was 18 at the time.

🏆 We are so proud of our 2024 Scholarship recipients! The “Glenna Rasmussen Memorial Tap Scholarship” earns a dancer a full year tap class at Fusion! This scholarship is given in honor of our tap teacher, Glenna, who was passionate about all things tap and passing on her craft to young dancers!

We are so proud to present this award to Logan! He has worked hard all year in his tap classes! Those tap sounds bring out clear joy in Logan every time he makes them and he has grown by leaps and bounds! Congratulations, Logan!
