NH Center for Nonprofits NH Gives starts tomorrow, June 9 at 5pm! It's New Hampshire's largest day of giving, bringing together hundreds of nonprofits and tens of thousands of donors with incentives to raise as much money and awareness as possible for the causes served by NH's nonprofit sector

Proceeds from the Bub Strong Memorial Classic Weekend in July go directly to the The Outing Club, Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, veteran organizations like Liberty House NH, and two college scholarships. November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, and today is World Pancreatic Cancer Day. We use the color purple, featuring James and his daughter Ciara in our lacrosse pinnies last year with the Bub Strong sign he built, to help highlight and bring awareness to the disease that is the third leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the U.S., with only a five-year survival rate of 13 percent because of the difficulty in detection and screening of the disease in its early stages. One of the organizations we donate a portion of the Memorial Classic weekend's proceeds to is the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network, dedicated to advancing scientific research, building community, sharing knowledge, and advocating for patients.

Besides being the color for pancreatic cancer awareness, purple was also Bub's favorite color, as it was the color of his high school, the Phoenixville Phantoms, as well as his Bucknell fraternity, Phi Gamma Delta. Every year, we try to have a different color and have rotated through orange and blue for the Bucknell University Bison, Bub's alma mater, and blue and gold for Kearsarge and the The Outing Club.

Happy Veterans Day to all those who have served and are serving 🇺🇸!

After graduating as an ensign in 1967 from U.S. Naval Officer Candidate School in Newport, RI, Bub first served as the operations officer and officer of the deck underway on the USS Sagacity (MSO 469), a wooden ocean minesweeper, before requesting assignment to Vietnam on Patrol Craft Fast (PCF), known as Swift Boats. After qualifying as officer in charge in 1968, he skippered two boats during his 11 months in Vietnam, PCF 52 and PCF 5. He conducted seventy MARKET TIME patrols, thirty-nine Operation SEA LORDS, and sixty-seven Operation SEA FLOAT missions based out of Cam Ranh Bay and An Thoi, with thirty-four direct encounters with enemy forces. For his service, he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star with Combat "V", and the Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V".

The Bub Strong Foundation is proud to support those who served by giving a portion of our proceeds to veteran organizations like Liberty House NH. Thank you for your service!
