Hannah finishes 3rd in overall points in Light 160!

10/05/2026

It's been a great run. Hannah's NASCAR Youth Series .25 Midget career came to an end at the Northwest Ohio Quarter Midget Racing Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series this weekend. She won her heat and started P1 in the feature, but the car got tight and she finished P5. She fought and clawed every lap until the end...which for those who know her...is very on brand.

When she came off of the track for the last time, the first thing she told me was, "Dad, this was a lot of fun."

We were so appreciative of all of the words and hugs, and especially for that unexpected gesture from our competitors at the start of the feature. Our hearts are full.

Buckeye Quarter Midget Racing Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series recap.

Only one car this weekend, and practice was canceled. Dad gave Hannah a Lt 160 car in the heat race that was looser than a 5-year-old's shoelaces. Thanks to an early Christmas miracle, she snuck into the feature. Dad made adjustments, and the car was much better but not quite there in the feature... Luckily, there was a rain delay with six laps left leading to a shootout, and because of the rain day we were allowed to do a tire pressure change which turned out to be exactly what the car needed. In the last six laps she sliced and diced her way up to 4th. Quite the turnaround! Congratulations to Koerner Racing on the win!

Hannah is in third in Midwest Thunder points with one race to go. Thank you Ultimate QM BRE Uncle Larry McNulty DF Seeds Fat Boys/AGR Clona Farm Marcie and Mike Nye Steven Emerick Racing

Recap - Kokomo Quarter Midget Club Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series

Hannah, as always was up on the wheel this weekend. In Light 160 she won her heat and started third in the feature, but after a lengthy rain delay and a midnight start, the car was way too loose and she ended up sixth. Congratulations to Racing with Weston on the win!

On Sunday she raced her last ever animal race. It was only the third time she'd been in the car all year, but the car was fast and the motor, as always was a monster. She finished second in her heat and was inches away from a podium finish, finishing P4. Lots of emotions. Congrats again, Weston!

It's wild to think we have only two quarter midget races left. There were lots of smiles and hugs and laughs this weekend, and I'm sure there will be more.

Thank you for everyone who helped us, especially when Dad had to go back to work for a moment. Hannah wins Midwest Thunder .25 Quarter Midget Racing Series Light 160 heat 3 to go straight to the feature!

It takes a village. Her crew chief had to step away during the heat to make a presentation at Notre Dame, and mom took the reins. We got a lot of help from our Ultimate QM and Toledo family Andy Loden Dale Raber Guy Bonafield Michael Gerbasi
