The chapter is officially coming to an end, and I can finally speak openly about the events that brought us here.
For the past six months, I have felt the effects of a mob mentality within the RC community, led in large part by AJ, because I chose to run Grand River RC the way I believed was best rather than play by someone else’s rules. Unfortunately, in the end, I believe everyone lost.
Track attendance fell off hard in 2026. I tried to adjust track hours and race schedules so I could spend more time at my day job and continue financially supporting the track. At the same time, I needed to find a better balance between work and my family. Over the last three years, my daughter has grown up with a dad who was almost always working, whether at my regular job or at the track.
There have been a lot of rumors and accusations surrounding GRRC. What I can say is that the track’s bills were kept current until it became financially impossible to continue doing so.
I fought until the very end to keep GRRC alive. On July 31, I had an MOC ready to sign with new ownership that would have allowed the track to continue. Ultimately, after everything happening behind the scenes, the landlord decided to pull the building from the track, ending that opportunity.
To every racer who continued supporting Grand River RC through all of this: thank you. I genuinely appreciate every one of you. I battled right up until the last minute to make sure there would still be a place for this community to race.
I’m disappointed that this is how the chapter ends, but I’m proud of what GRRC was, the memories that were made there, and the people who supported it along the way.
I wish all of the racers nothing but the best moving forward.
