June 25 is our closing date as retirement calls my name… We have ceased taking trophy orders but are excited to refer you to a company that will be taking over what we do and bringing it to another level!

CREATIVE CONCEPTS, PLUS in Rockford is who we wholeheartedly endorse! Jesse and his team will have our templates, files etc and be able to pick up where we are leaving off!

RETIREMENT TIME

In 1956 my father, Bill Holwerda, and his partner, Elmer Snoap started this sporting goods business just 3 blocks from where the business currently stands on S Division…. Nearly 70 years and 5 locations later, it’s time to say THANK YOU to the West Michigan community that we’ve served and close the doors one last time…. and also say Good Bye…

Just 3 months away - in late June - retirement time arrives for myself. My partner, Steve Kraai, will carry on in some fashion still selling uniforms, t-shirts and other apparel…. But Holwerda-Snoap Sporting Goods will be no more.

We are excited to share that we’ve found a company will be taking over our trophy and awards division… more on that to follow! A few details need to be handled, but we are confident that they will be taking what we do to another level…

After 48 years of being a part of this business myself, I’ve done a ton of reflecting in the recent past… I think mostly of the people I’ve encountered on my journey… very very grateful for those wonderful customers who’ve entrusted us with their projects… and grateful too for the many relationships built along the way…

Thank you Grand Rapids! Thank you West Michigan!

We love challenges… this cup was brought to us with a request to figure out how they can add names to an award that’s 100 years old (1922) Along with that a request to “clean it up!”

We’re thinking this year’s recipient will be pretty proud to have possession of this beauty for the next year….
