Catalyst Training Center is a West Michigan gym based around functional movement and community. It is built on a foundation of diversity, inclusion, and mutual support.

Here, we don’t just break a sweat, we break down barriers. We celebrate each other's wins, hold space for each other’s struggles, and work together. Because together, we create a fitness culture that is strong, safe, and affirming for ALL.

Monday, September 7th, we're pulling out the craft supplies and getting cozy in The Loft at Catalyst. 🧵🧶🎨

Craft Night is exactly what it sounds like — no pressure and no perfection required, just space to make something with your hands while people around you do the same.

Bring your own craft, we'll facilitate the space. 6:30-8:30pm, $5-$15 sliding scale, tea provided.

We hope to see you and your creations on Monday!

Catalyst Training Center is located at 1322 Edna St SE, Grand Rapids, MI, 49507.

September is full of opportunities to connect at Catalyst in addition to all of our usual functional movement classes!

We've got craft night, jam night, two pottery workshops, and we're bringing the Catalyst spirit out to Transfuse Night Market for the first time!

Community is resistance. Art is resistance. Come create something with us. ✨️

Tickets for the pottery workshops are available at www.anniblossoms.com/workshops

Caught on camera today: restocking the Shame Free Pantry, which was empty again within hours. This little box outside Catalyst has become a small lifeline for so many folks in Alger Heights, and honestly, watching it empty out that fast is equal parts heartbreaking and affirming that we need to stay committed to keeping it stocked as consistently as possible.

Want to be part of that? Here’s what helps most right now:

Food
- Canned goods with pull tabs (soups, beans, tuna, chicken, fruit, veggies)
- Peanut, almond, or sunflower butter (pouches & individual servings especially)
- Individual snack packs, granola bars, protein bars
- Sleeves of crackers, dried fruit & trail mix
- Single-serve cereal or oatmeal cups
- Bottled water & bottled Gatorade
- Ready-to-eat: pop-top ravioli, fruit cups, applesauce pouches

Non-food Essentials
- Socks — still the #1 most requested item!!!
- Hygiene items (menstrual products, travel toothpaste/toothbrush, wipes, deodorant)
- Hand sanitizer, band-aids, basic first aid
- Ziploc bags or small containers

Pet Items
- Cat food
- Dog food

Drop-offs welcome anytime — message us on Facebook or Instagram to coordinate, or swing by during open hours on Thursdays, from 8am–5pm.

We take care of us. Thank you for being part of that. ❤️

The Shame Free Pantry here at Catalyst Training Center has become a hot spot of foot traffic since our incredible friends from the Shame Free Collective came to install it here at our facility in Alger Heights just a few weeks ago.

We're refilling it as fast as we can - but the reality is that it is cleared out within hours most every day. That's a great thing - it means we're reaching the folks who need that support in our community consistently. But this is where the rest of our community can pitch in and help out! Have a bit extra to share? Here are the things that help most:

Food
- Canned goods with pull tabs (soups, beans, tuna, chicken, fruit, veggies)
- Peanut, almond, or sunflower butter (especially the pouches and individual servings)
- Individual snack packs, granola bars, protein bars
- Sleeves of crackers, dried fruit & nuts/trail mix
- Single-serve cereal or oatmeal cups
- Bottled water
- Bottled gatorade
- Ready-to-eat: pop-top ravioli, fruit cups, applesauce pouches

Non-food Essentials
- Socks - this one is very much requested!!!
- Hygiene items (menstrual products, travel toothpaste/toothbrush, wipes, deodorant)
- Hand sanitizer, band-aids, basic first aid items
- Ziploc bags or small containers

Pet Items
- Cat food
- Dog food
- Canned food

Please reach out to us on Facebook Messenger or Instagram direct messages to let us know when you'd like to drop off a donation, or feel free to swing by any Thursday during our open hours from 8 am - 5 pm :)

We're SO grateful for any support that we can pass along to some of our most vulnerable neighbors. We take care of us

When life throws rocks at you, paint them. 🪨🎨 Anyone else have a wild/weird week?! Our crew has been hyper-focused on rock painting, togetherness, and (very needed) mutual support this week. The Catalyst community is so special and is growing like crazy! We are here to welcome you into what we are building together - in all the rockiness that comes with being human.
