Outdoor Community Event
Saturday Feb, 11th 9:00am-5pm
The 8th annual Northwoods Pond Hockey Championship is a one day pond hockey tournament on McKinney Lake in Grand Rapids.
8 rinks, four divisions (GOLD, SILVER, RINK RAT, and LAST PICK)
Last Pick is a division for those that have dabbled in skating and hockey and are far from perfecting those skills. It is for people that are looking to ha
ve a lot of good laughs, mostly at your own expense. Get some people together from work, dig out the old rusty skates, borrow a stick from a friend, and join us on the Pond! The primary goal of the tournament is to create an enjoyable and memorable community event that encourages people to get connected and be active during our long, cold winters.
“Turning ice into water” - captures our passion to play hockey so that people around this world can have clean drinking water. Proceeds from the tournament will go towards digging water wells in Africa through an organization called World Serve. www.worldserveintl.org
Also a portion of the proceeds goes to local non profit organizations chosen by the winning team from each division. Come cheer on the teams enjoy the festivities and the variety of food trucks
