The Michigan Ballet Academy (MBA) is a not-for-profit arts organization offering the highest quality classical ballet training using the Vaganova training method. Vaganova is acknowledged around the world as the foremost training program for classical ballet. MBA is striving to make and currently consists of 3 main divisions: Children's Movement, Adult Movement, and our Pre-Professio

nal Program. The focus of the Children's Movement classes is to introduce children to a classroom environment while building body awareness, musicality, flexibility, and coordination. Children between the ages of 2-5 can expect to make friends and gain a lifelong love of movement! Our Pre-Professional Program is aimed to further Children's dance education into high school, resulting in strong, confident dancers ready to step into college, a professional company setting, or just the world at large. Lastly, our Adult Movement Classes offer adults a new opportunity to rekindle an old love, find joy in movement, or just take an awesome workout class. As we approach the new school year in just one week, we are so excited to announce our continued partnership with the professional ballerinas of Deos Contemporary Ballet . Students moving into our new Preparatory Level will have the opportunity to be mentored by current professional dancers as well as to perform and take class with them.

This partnership renews our hope to give your ballet student not just classes, but a path forward, bridging the gap between being a ballet student and making it your career 💜

Join us tomorrow, September 1st, for an open class for Intermediate and advanced dancers! 😍 Class begins at 4:45 and will run for an hour and a half, only $18!

And then join us again on Thursday for one last advanced class before the start of the school year.

Learn through movement!

Does your little one twirl around the house? Dance instead of walk? Then this class is for them! In this 45-minute class your 3-5 year old will work on counting music, coordination, and rhythm all while moving and having fun!

Mini Ballet classes meet Wednesdays at 4 or Thursday mornings at 10:45 for 45 minutes. You can sign up today at michiganballet.org or email us at [email protected] for more information!

Our dancers are placed and pushed based on current technical ability, not age. This allows us to tailor your dancer's growth plan to their specific needs, weaknesses, and strengths! Just look at what this young MBA dancer has accomplished.

Eden started out at age 9 in our Level 1 class, and is starting her year this school year at age 11 in Level 3, our pre-pointe level 😍
