Summer 3man series 2026, Event #3 recap:
When it comes to weather… IT COULDA BEEN WORSE! We starred some storms in the eye, and we didn’t blink. We heard it rumbling around us but we never had anything significant come close to us. We took precautions and powered through.
Our Day started with the Rookies & Low Impact division. Rookies played through the day so we will recap the LI’s first.
A former regular player (Alan) approached me about having a Low Impact division at this 3man event shortly after his son got involved in our Wednesday night Kids League… I thought it was a great idea so I spread the word and put some teams together. We ended up with 4 teams. The most polished of the 4 teams was TCP Battle Machine Kids (Austin, Hunter, Kaden), who’s dads are current tournament players on one of our national level lines, TCP Battle Machine. Battle Machine Kids went undefeated through prelims, boasting 70 out of a possible 78 prelim points! They went into semi finals as the #1 seed. The number 2 seed through prelims was The Lawfirm of Swarvar, Hight, & Starnes( Ian, Camden, Philip). They started slow, and seemed a little down… then they got a win, then another win, then 2 more. They ended prelims with a 4-2 record. Slabby’s Laser Engraving (Landon, Brison, & Colton Bumble Bee) won a game in their first set, were competitive in the rest but couldn’t manage another flag hang. 1-5 through prelims. And finally DHS went 1-5 and went into the semis as the #4 seed. In semi finals Battle Machine kids had game 1 won, but a surprising move down the snake in a 2v3 drew the penalty which ended up eliminating the BM kids giving the game 1 to DHS… Battle Machine fought back in game 2 to even the score but the OTB shooting in game 3 became the deciding factor. The #4 seed upset the #1 to earn the finals berth. In the other matchup the Lawfirm dropped game 1 but roared back in games 2 and 3 as Camden got more and more comfortable in the snake to propel his squad to the finals. In finals is was back and forth! The Lawfirm won game 1… DHS won game 2… in game 3 it was the Lawfirm winning the game & the day! Congrats Camden, Ian, & Philip!

The Rookie division played all day. Early on they alternated with the Low Impact division and in the afternoon they alternated with Novice 3man Xball.
8 out of 13 teams would move on from prelims into quarter finals in the Rookie division.
We had 3 teams sign up for Tru-Beginner for this event, and we really need 4 to make a division work. I reached out to the TB teams to ask them if they would still like to play by moving up to the Rookie division. All the teams said basically the same thing: “yes, we just want to play”. Awesome attitudes! The 1 TB team that met this morning actually didn’t he best. The “Throwtogethers” ended up as the #4 seed out of prelims with a 5-3 record. West Michigan Mischiefs are fresh out of Low Impact League and do fully qualify for Tru-Beginner. They took a bit to warm up but actually won a set and finished prelims with a 2-6 record. Rag Tag TB won their first set but despite Matt’s creative move efforts couldn’t muster another win. They finished 2-6. TCP Diamond Machine went 1-7 and missed the cut. Thunderlords who lead the division on the strength of a 1st place & 2nd place finish in the first 2 events came out uncharacteristally flat today. They could only muster 1 flag hang and finished 1-7. Playing for Keeps dropped their first 4 games but then found their groove, winning their next 4 games. They finished 4-4, made the cut but had babysitter issues and had to leave before quarter finals began. After the Playing for Keeps exit it elevated Hastings Wolf Pack into the #8 spot (2-6 record). GR Ruckus also went 2-6 and went into quarters as the #7 seed. Badlands Rangers went 4-4 earning the 6 seed. Goon Ballerz split every set winning 4 and dropping 4. #5 seed. Throwtogethers went into quarters as the #4. Bunker busters (6-2) earned the #3, Rag Tag Rk 7-1 and the #2 while The Hitters Inc went 8-0 through prelims only dropping 4 total points and claimed the #1 seed. In quarter finals the Hitters dropped game 2 to HWP as Will was able to catch David in a 1v1 battle but Hitters won games 1 and 3 to earn the trip to the final 4. Rag Tag rk were able to put GR Ruckus away in 2 games to get into the semi final round. Bunker Busters beat BL Rangers in 2 games while the Goon Ballers finally beat a team twice as they put away the Throw Togethers in 2 games to complete the semi final final 4 match ups. In Semis Hitters Inc. (former Bunker Busters V2) drew their former sister team and were able to put them away in 2 games as the Goon Ballerz ended Rag Tag’s day in 2 games. In finals it was too much Hitters, inc! they only needed 2 games to claim the crown as event 3 champs!

The Final division to take the field today was the 4 team Novice 3man Xball division.
At the end of prelims we had a 3 way tie for 2nd. Bunker Busters (1-2 record, -1 margin, played 2 divisions today) earned the #2 seed on the strength of having a better margin than the other 2 teams they tied records with . TCP Staff Infection (1-2) and Animal Instinct (1-2) tied on margin so we flipped a coin for seed. In semi finals TCP Nano Machine stayed undefeated by beating Animal Instinct while Staff Infection put away Bunker Busters to set up a rematch of the event 2 finals. This time however it was all Nano. They beat Staff 4-0 to earn the crown in the Xball division!
