We’ve been tossing around ideas and thought instead of making it a formal thing or calling a big meeting… why not just ask?

For the kids, younger archers, and families that spend time out at the range — what kinds of things would you like to see offered out here?

Nothing huge or expensive. Just fun ideas using the space we already have. Maybe different types of shoots, games, challenges, themed days, youth nights, or something we haven’t even thought of yet.

This is more of a round table discussion than anything official. We’d just love to hear what would make the range more fun, exciting, and welcoming for younger shooters.

Mastering the basics makes all the difference! 🎯

At Grand Rapids Archery Club, we’ve got the 11 steps of shooting a bow clearly listed right at the range, so whether you’re brand new or just brushing up, you’ve always got a guide in front of you.

From stance… to nocking… to follow-through, every shot becomes more consistent when you focus on the fundamentals.

It’s one of the best ways to build confidence, improve accuracy, and actually enjoy the process of getting better.

Next time you’re at the club, take a minute to walk through each step. You might be surprised how much it improves your shot.

• Must bring your own equipment

Youth club member Masen Chambers traveled to Utah for NASP and Centershot National tournaments.
Centershot standings:
BULLSEYE 1st place 294/300
3D 2nd place 294/300
Overall Bullseye Male

NASP standings:
3D 3rd place 292/300
Masen won a 3-way shoot out and placed second with a 295/300.

What did he win? A Genesis bow, a Mission bow, a target, 4 dozen arrows, arrow tote, wrist sling, and a hunting accessory package.

We truly could not have done this without all of you!

A HUGE thank you to every volunteer and board member who showed up, stepped in, and gave their time and energy to make our Open House what it was. From setting up, to helping guests, to keeping everything running smoothly all day long—every role mattered, and it showed.

It was so special to see a mix of new faces alongside members who have been a part of this club for so many years. That’s what makes this place what it is—a community that continues to grow while staying rooted in the people who built it.

We are incredibly grateful for each and every one of you. Your support, your time, and your willingness to show up for this club does not go unnoticed.
