Ugh…where to start.

First, we want to be clear that participants safety is our main priority, above all else.

Second, the decisions to delay and eventually cancel, were based solely off monitoring the lightening strikes and their proximity to the course. There are industry standards for these events and we made every attempt to let the event go on.

Third, once an event is cancelled for the safety of the participants and volunteers, we have to stop our part of the event, and that means fully stopping the race.

Our team is gutted over having to shut it down today and we fully understand the frustrations. As athletes ourselves, we well understand the dedication to train for these events. It sucks. We’re not going to downplay the disappointment, all the way around.

That said, we’re working on what we can offer participants and will communicate via email, in the coming days.

Again, we understand the frustrations and disappointment and feel it too.

RACE MORNING START TIMES — SUNDAY, AUGUST 30
We’re almost there. Here’s when we’ll get things rolling Sunday morning at Millennium Park:

5:00 AM — Special early start for marathoners who need additional time
6:00 AM — Full Marathon
7:00 AM — Half Marathon
7:00 AM — Marathon Relay
8:00 AM — 10K

Give yourself plenty of time to park, get settled and make your way to the start.

When Millennium Meadows started in 2018, we hoped runners would find something here worth coming back for.

Eight years later, you have.

This Sunday, we'll welcome the largest field in Millennium Meadows history to Millennium Park, with runners joining us from 24 states across the country and one from Japan!

For a race that has always kept things pretty simple — good courses, a beautiful park, and a place for runners to chase whatever goal brought them here — that's something we're awfully proud of.

Thank you for making year eight our biggest yet!

And we're not quite done. There's still time to join us. Registration remains open for the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K and Marathon Relay.

Race weekend is almost here, so here are a few things to know before Sunday.

SATURDAY PACKET PICKUP
Stop by Fulton Street Pub & Grill, 801 W. Fulton Street, anytime from 2–6 p.m. to pick up your bib and get one less thing off your race-morning list.

RACE MORNING
Packet pickup will be available at the pavilion at Millennium Park beginning at 5:15 a.m.

And yes, we know some of you are starting at 5 a.m. We'll get you a bib. Just show up early enough and we'll take care of you.

STILL WANT TO RUN?
Late registration is online only. There will not be in-person registration at the race site, but you can register from your phone right up until the start of the race.

One more thing waiting for you at Millennium Meadows this Sunday — race photos!

stellafly will be out on the course capturing race day, and your photos will be available to download for free after the race.
No photo packages. No deciding whether that finish-line shot is worth $30. Just find your photos, download them and keep them.

Race week is here!

The long runs are done, the miles are in the bank, and there isn't much left to do except trust the training and get yourself to the starting line.

This Sunday, runners will take on the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 5K and Marathon Relay at Millennium Park. Some will be chasing Boston, some a new PR, and some a finish line they've been thinking about all summer.

There's still time to get signed up. We're looking forward to sharing the morning with you.
