The youth wrestlers finished out the season with their awards banquet last Sunday. They enjoyed great food, fellowship and an awards ceremony to cap off the season.

Thanks to all the parents and coaches who helped make this a successful season. Without you all running kids around and volunteering your time, we couldn’t offer this opportunity to the youths in our communities.

To the sixth graders, thanks for contributing to the program and we hope to see you next year having success at the high school level.

What a great way for our youth girls to finish the season this weekend at NYWA Girls State!

We crowned yet another state champion! Charlotte Christenson made it back-to-back state championships and was once again named Outstanding Wrestler for her age division! Emry Wallace took home bronze and Reagan Bain took home fifth!

We had a few girls wrestle on a K-4 team that took fifth and GMLOS’ 5-8 team won their final match to take ninth!

Not to be outdone by his daughter, Coach Christenson also took home some hardware being named the girls 5-8 Coach of the Year! Congrats Coach Christenson!

Our 5-6 and 7-8 wrestlers finished wrestling tonight. Eliot Sween was state runner-up, losing his finals match 3-0. Skyler Felten finished in sixth place in his bracket, wrestling well all day long. Congratulations to all those kids that wrestled and good luck tomorrow when or K-4 wrestlers start their tournaments!

We had 9 wrestlers compete at the MNUSA State Folkstyle Tournament Friday, Saturday and Sunday. They all did a great job and we had 3 make the podium including one state champion (Chase). We also had two (Skyler and Eliot) who were a single match from placing.

Next up is NYWA regions this weekend. DO NOT FORGET to register online by the deadline (Tues at 9pm). Your child will not be able to compete if you fail to register by the deadline.
