The 24th Libra Trail ride was everything a horseperson could want. Beautiful weather with striking autumn colors. Conversations with friends. The sounds of muffled hooves, horses splashing through water. A quiet, drama free afternoon enjoying friends, our horses, and beautiful country.

EDIT. I noticed a typo. It should read "current Coggins required" not "never Coggins...".

The 24th Annual trail ride is only 2 days away! September 27 is coming quickly and the weather for riding looks fantastic!
10am, the convoy leaves the Cook County Community Center to the Blueberry Pit.
11am butts in the saddle.
2pm ish. Back at Blueberry Pit for a campfire, snacks, and a get together.
Hosts are Gerilynne Heston and me. If you're planning on riding, please let one of us know.
Current Coggins required.
Blaze orange suggested as it is grouse season.

The Libra Ride will be at the Gunflint Horse Park, Saturday, September 28th, at 1pm.

Bring a snack to share, beverage, and chair.

Trailer parking will be North of the arena on the grass. Bring a current Coggins. There is no water on site.

Val and Bonnie will have eight stations set up where you can play with your horse. If you have questions, contact them.

Brennah Conley, owner of Seven Up Equine out of Duluth is going to be at my place Sunday, August 25th, at 10 am.

Brennah does massage, fascial release, acupressure, and red-light treatments on horses.

She is a Duluth native and earned her BS in Equine Science from ND State University.

She will be doing a one-hour massage on one of my horses. You are most than welcome to come, observe, and ask questions.

For all who knew Joel Lewis, there will be a memorial service for him this Saturday, August 10th, at 2 p.m., at the Hovland Town Hall with light refreshments afterwards. Please try to come and show your support for his family and share memories. Joel made an impact on the horse lives of many of us, and he will always be remembered.

LIBRA RIDE!
September 30th is the last Saturday of the month. This will be the 20th annual Libra Ride started and nurtured by Mary Alyce.

Mary Alyce has opened her farm as the location. However, we NEED SOMEONE to take ownership of it and plan the day.

Please, someone, step up and say, "I'll do it!!!!"

Hello all, Sprinter (Spring-Winter) is here! I'm thinking about this season's trail rides as I'm sure all you are. Let's plan a get together to discuss our plans and figure out what maintenance we want to do with the Gunflint Horse Park.

Attention! The 19th Annual Libra Ride will be moved to SUNDAY, September 25th. Cy Bestland is coming up on the 23rd and 24th. Everything else will remain the same. We will leave from North Coast Stables and ride the Musher trail, out and back through the maples. Hope you can make the change of date. Thank you and happy trails.
