A look at the Flintlock Range from above!

We've been working on the property all summer, and over the past month we've been busy moving dirt to complete the road, parking lot area, and shooting range. There's still a lot of work to do, but it's coming together!

Thanks to everyone who showed up to our open house and monthly meeting this evening! It was wonderful to have folks on the property and see all the incredible work that's happened on-site this summer and over the past year.

We want to thank Feradyne Outdoors for donating several 3D archery targets to the Flintlock Range Association to use for the new archery range! What a wonderful addition these will be and we look forward to folks using them once we open!

Help us build the Flintlock Range! We're raising funds to help move the project forward, including purchasing gravel for the entrance road and the areas where the covered shooting structures, benches, and picnic tables will be installed. We also have site preparation and construction materials still to purchase before the range can open.

Every donation—large or small—helps bring us one step closer to creating a safe, accessible shooting and archery range for Cook County.

This past week, we've been back on the property working to clear areas, do flagging, fixing/installing a gate, and so much more! We have a long list of tasks that we will be working on in June - the main one will be finishing the needed improvements to the road and purchasing gravel.

Other main projects will be to finish clearing the area for the pistol & rifle ranges. Level out where the covered shooting structures and benches will be. And lastly, clear the walking archery trails. There's a lot of work to do! We would love to have a few more hands this month as we tackle some of these important projects - please send us an email at [email protected] to learn how you can help.

Spring is right around the corner, and we sure could use your help securing equipment to begin work on the property! Send us an email if you have any of the following equipment and would be willing to donate your time or equipment to help us build the range. We'll be beginning work on the property again, hopefully in May.
