Flintlock Range The Flintlock Range is dedicated to providing a safe and educational shooting & archery range

The purpose of the Flintlock Range Association is to function as a group of individuals who together promote best practices in various shooting sports, administer, manage and maintain any facilities it develops for the mutual benefit of the Association, its members, youth and local residents in the Cook County area.

Here is a teaser of some of the raffle items we will have available to win on Friday during our membership party! The items Include a Henry Big Boy .357, Re*****on 870 12-gauge, handmade stone carvings, a Damascus knive, gift certificates for local businesses, handmade feather ornaments, one night stay & vouchers for Grand Portage Lodge & Casino, and SO much more.

Mark your calendars! We're hosting a membership party on January 16 from 6-8 p.m. at Up Yonder. We will be holding a raffle, including several items such as a Henry Big Boy .357, handcrafted knives, outdoor goods, handmade jewelry and stone carvings, and so much more!

We made a lot of progress this summer for construction of the shooting & archery range. We anticipate opening in 2026. Come learn about our efforts, support us, get a membership, or see how you can become involved at our upcoming membership party!

We need your help, again! Do you have materials, equipment, and/or time to help us develop the pistol and rifle ranges this fall? There is plenty of time left in the construction season & we sure could use your help. We sure had a fun volunteer night of staining our picnic tables and shooting benches! These will be headed to the Flintlock property soon and put in storage for the winter. We're looking forward to using them on the range next summer.

We officially have a physical address now:
159 Kimball Creek Road. It's one more small but meaningful step we completed this past week!

The location of the range is on Forest Road 304, up the Gunflint Trail - but for us to get a physical address with the county, the road had to be renamed. So, it is now Kimball Creek Rd.

Today, we picked up the 3 picnic tables and 4 shooting benches the wonderful students in the shop class at the school built for us this past school year. Thank you to the students and Jordy Kirk! We will be staining these and bringing them to the Flintlock property soon.

The shop class this upcoming school year will be helping us to build the remainder we need for the range.

Stay tuned for volunteer site work days in September! One of the tasks will be staining all of these! Dates coming soon.
