“I’ve tried slowing down... I just can’t shut my brain off.”
Good, how normal and human of you!

We hear phrases like that all the time. Honestly, trying harder to relax doesn’t work. You can’t override a fight-or-flight response with willpower because the mental effort of trying keeps you in that same state of overdrive and problem-solving. Slowing down isn’t something you force, it’s something your nervous system experiences.

That’s why guided classes like this can be so powerful. You don’t have to figure out what comes next or put pressure on yourself to “do it right.” We guide you through each transition, each breath, and each moment. The repetition, breathwork, and sound all give your nervous system cues that it’s safe, helping stimulate the vagus nerve and shift your body toward a more restorative state.

If your mind starts racing or you feel a little uncomfortable when things get quiet, that’s actually really common! It doesn’t mean you’re bad at relaxing. Often it’s just what happens when your body finally has enough space for what’s been sitting beneath the surface to come up. You don’t have to push it away or empty your mind. Well-led practices help you move through it naturally. Your body is already wired to respond to rhythm and frequency, it just needs the right tools to remember.

The rain cleared just in time for us today, and the clouds parted right before practice started. We had such a great time getting outside with all of you! These pop-ups are always so much fun even though the weather kept us guessing, but only for a minute! Watching the clouds part ways and the sun come out in full brilliance made the whole experience feel even more special. Thank you to everyone who came out and shared the morning with us. Daily Dose Coffee for the fresh coffees and lattes. Until next time! ☀️🌱🪴

“Longevity” isn’t about taking it easy. It’s about getting strong in the spots most people avoid.

Box squats sometimes get a bad rap, but they get a LOT of love around here! And they haven’t always been welcomed with open arms. Box squats will call you out fast. No dropping in, no bounce. You control it down, sit, and stand it up. If something’s off, you feel it.

The women in Built for Her have come a LONG way with these. In the beginning, these maybe felt a little exposing. A little intimidating. But this is where a lot of it clicked. Learning major key points like how to create pressure through the core, how to support the spine, how to actually produce force instead of relying on momentum. It takes focus. You can’t check out mid-rep.

They build your hips and glutes, clean up your positions, and make you more solid where it counts.

And you can still load them. Heavy, if that’s your thing or slower for more tension control. All while you’re building knee stability, hip strength, ankle mobility.

Most people don’t need more reps of the same thing. They need to get stronger in what they’ve been avoiding!
Box squats for the win 💯

‼️Schedule Update for Eat to Fuel: Muscle, Metabolism, & Blood Sugar Workshop

Due to Race for Grace on April 11—and several of you reaching out about the overlap—we’re moving the workshop to make sure you don’t have to choose!

‼️New Workshop Time:
Sunday, April 12 at 2:00 PM

This will be an in-person, open Q&A style session, so you can ask questions, get clarity, and walk away knowing exactly how to apply it to your own routine. We will still Zoom & record the session for those who cannot make it in person.

If you’re already signed up—you’re all set.

📌Here are some answers to FAQ, so far:

-Do I need to track food?
No—but we’ll cover how it can be helpful. Things like identifying what may have caused a blood sugar spike or understanding your baseline needs (BMR and daily intake). From there, you can decide if tracking more closely is a tool you want to use.

-Will I actually be guided during the 2 weeks, or am I on my own?
You won’t be left guessing. You’ll learn how to interpret what you’re seeing and how to make adjustments along the way.

-Is this only for people trying to lose weight?
No. This is for anyone looking to improve energy, performance, and overall understanding of their nutrition.

-What if I’ve already tracked macros before?
This goes beyond tracking. It’s about understanding your body’s response and using that information with intention.

-Will this be overwhelming?
No. This is designed to simplify—focusing on what actually matters and removing the noise.

-Do I need prior nutrition knowledge?
No. You’ll be guided through in a way that builds clarity, not confusion.
