Grand Island Baseball is headed to the State Final Four! ⚾️

The Vikings defeated Waverly (Section IV) 5-4 to advance, improving to 20-4 on the season. Caden Sharkey threw a complete-game 6-hitter with 9 strikeouts, while Andrew Kozlowski went 2-for-3 with 3 RBIs. John Chiarenza tripled, Nic Aiello doubled, and Don Collure added an RBI as GI battled its way to victory.

Only four teams remain in Class A in all of New York State — and Grand Island is one of them.

Next stop: Binghamton University.

We are excited to welcome 2026 NJCAA Division III National Champions SUNY Niagara Thunderwolves players Patrick Beyer, Cooper Rossano, and Cam Gruarin to Complete Game Baseball Camp this summer!

These talented student-athletes recently helped lead SUNY Niagara to a National Championship, and now they'll be sharing their knowledge, experiences, and passion for the game with our campers.

Our players will have the opportunity to learn from athletes who have competed and succeeded at the collegiate level while hearing firsthand what it takes to develop their skills, compete at a high level, and be great teammates.

At Complete Game Baseball Camp, we believe that learning from current college players helps inspire young athletes and provides valuable insight into the dedication, work ethic, and mindset needed to continue developing both on and off the field.

We would also like to recognize and congratulate former camp coaches Dalton Harper, Mike Schaefer, and Joe Panzarella on helping bring a National Championship to SUNY Niagara. Thank you for the tremendous impact you've had on our program and for serving as outstanding role models for our campers. Congratulations to our Boys Varsity Baseball team on capturing the A Championship with a dominant 10-0 victory over Olean!

A stellar team effort was led by Caden Sharkey, who tossed a three-hit gem and struck out seven over five innings. Nic Aiello powered the offense, going 2-for-2 with two home runs and a sacrifice fly, driving in six runs. Nic Genovese added two RBIs, Dom Leo contributed two hits and an RBI, and Tommy Alberalla finished 2-for-3 at the plate.

The Vikings improve to an impressive 18-4 on the season and will continue their postseason journey Tuesday in the Far West Regionals.

Congratulations, Vikings! We’re proud of you and cheering you on every step of the way! 💙⚾️💛
