Chicopee Sportsmen's Club

Chicopee Sportsmen's Club The Chicopee Sportsmen’s Club has been serving the interests of outdoor sportsmen since it was established in 1938. With over 500 acres!

A 28-station archery course awaits archers who like to walk the woods. Targets, trails, and bridges are well maintained and clearly marked and shooters can shoot half the course if they wish as it returns back to the clubhouse. For those who just wish to target practice, there’s an additional target range available. Known as the "tree stand", this range sports a two story shooting platform with ro

om for 20 shooters at a time. Please use EXTREME care when using the upper deck. The upper deck is especially designed for archers who hunt from trees, and it provides an excellent way to mimic shooting from a tree stand. This is a range that the whole family can enjoy. Several times each year, out door 3-D shooting events are held through out our forest. These are open to the public and all are invited. Prizes are awarded for various classes of shooting. Be prepared to walk through the woods – it takes several hours to complete. Refreshments are available. Rifle range: High Power Shooting – A 200 yard rifle range is always open for shooting any and all types of guns such as semi-automatic rifles, shotguns, and pistols. All Federal, state, and local firearm laws must be obeyed. A grass pad in front of the tables is laid out for prone shooting. The prone shooting area may only be used when it is determined to be “the established firing line”. At no time shall there be more than one firing line used on any range. Note: At no time and under no circumstances may anyone be forward of the “established firing line” until the line is determined to be “clear”.

1 - When the line is declared "CLEAR":
2 - All fi****ms must be holstered; or unloaded and benched or grounded, with the muzzle pointed down range, with the action open,
ejection port or cylinder up, and magazine removed.
3 - Everyone must step back from the firing line.
4 - No fi****ms may be handled while the line is "CLEAR"

Blackpowder/Shotgun/Plinking range:
Black Powder shooting enthusiasts share a unique 100-yard outdoor range with ample room for many shooters. Events put on during the year may include hunter’s walks, wild-west shoots, a club championship shoot, and other types of shoots. A roof covers the shooting line and permits shooting in any weather. Pistol Range: An outdoor pistol range capable of serving 20 shooters is currently available for shooting. Tables and seats are specially designed to provide ample room for all shooting material. Shooting tables with adjustable seats make it ideal for sighting in guns, or just shooting for an afternoon.

Sadly, Larry Trotter passed away on 1/21/26. Larry organized the "Mountain Men" group at the C.S.C. This is why we have and offer a black powder range at our club. In previous years Larry offered several different black powder special events. Rest peacefully Larry. Your legend will forever live on with our C.S.C. family and members.
