I've been following his online academy for a year. What I've noticed is Wing Chun was born with a specific engine. The "Snake body" (Snake/Crane) Which means to "stay soft" Think like bamboo soft. Not pillow soft.. A quick run down of where im at with it so far: Stand shoulder length apart. Legs straight. (Do any form you like,, from any lineage. Remember, its a engine.) Most important, always keep you spine active and "straght" chin pushed up to slightly force the crown of your head up. Fill the meat of the back of your neck. Sit and fill your lower back. Let your hips hang and feel suspended from the crown. Fill up your feet. Let them spread. Sink your elbows. Allow your elbows and feet to communicate. Activate the inside of your legs. This will allow gravity to pass through you. "Kwa" Always keep your knees straight. Stretch the muscle with each movement. Pull from the belly/sit area to the finger tips. Free the joints.Open the body, let your belly feel full. Allow the muscle to hang from the bones. Release all major muscles. Set your shoulder blades and sink your shoulders. Soften you chest. Breathe from the belly. Sit into your hips. Take your time. This is gung fu. Listen to your body. Wing Chun concepts can be used on multiple platforms and mediums. Regardless of lineage. Even boxing etc. Good principles carry the same biology. So always keep an open mind. Safe practicing, have fun, be well.
